What a great memorial and something I wish to visit. I thank the fine men and women who have taken the time to build a memorial for all of us and our families as well.. Thanks Greratly!
i was drafted from high school, last Nam draft of '71 and served 8 years of service with USAF. i wanted to fly but my eyes weren't good enough [still] i would have been one of their best pilots. i was not injured during my active duty service. now i am 55 and i AM disabled from getting hit by car while driving my motorcycle. so things like veteran benefits and memorials such as the DVLMF are very important to me. my reverence continues to honor our fallen heroes and THEIR families.
My dad lost his left arm and the right was put back together with "superman steel" LOL, he use to tell us that when we were kids. He was and still is at 77 an inspiration to me and my brothers and sisters. He is just one of the best men I've ever known. One of his favorite sayings is "show me something I can't do and I'll start practicing". My mom proudly says, he is the most determined man she has ever known in her life.
as a disabled vet , it brings tears to my eyes to see such a beautiful and well deserved place being brought into concious and reality. i thought jus getting va healthcare was a nice thing but , its so much more. to see this i wish my garndfather could see this god rest his soul, he would be elated with happiness.
I as well, feel the same way, I am also a disabled vet, and my grandfather would have been proud as well. My prayers to all who have served and those who shall. God bless you and your family. I cannot wait to visit.
I too wish to give my thanks to the brave men and woman that have fought in previous wars as well as the wars we are fighting today. That's one of the many reasons why I am a Democrat/Liberal and hate war. Please note that I said I hate war I in NO WAY hate the troops!! They should be safe at home NOT fighting in Iraq so Bushie Jr. can make sure his precious oil is OK!!
You are true American Heroes. Our freedoms and way of life would not, and could not exist without your sacrifices. Who else gives so much for so little in return? And you do it with courage and honor. You have our utmost respect and admiration.
They are only words, but they can never be said enough:

This magnificent memorial is long overdue. It is heartening to see someone in the "Hollywood establishment" buck the trend and really put his money where his mouth is. Gary Sinise is a personal hero of mine for using his position and influence (much the way his friend Tom Hanks did for the WWII Memorial) to bring recognition to this very important segment of our society. As a son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and neighbor of current and former US servicemembers, I say "God bless them all."
I am definitely giving money to this project. As it is the least I can do. My father lost both of his legs in Vietnam. And I have the utmost respect for the military. God Bless all who have fought and continue to fight. These are the Americans who have given us this great country, and keep it free.
A place of honor for our disabled heroes. It will convey feelings of strength, vulnerability and hope. This is wonderful. God Bless each and everyone of you. =0) For the men and women's lives who were forever changed to defend America and our way of life. Let's remember this on election day. Please vote for John McCain. Please.......FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bless them ALL for their Sacrifices.
They honored us with their Bravery.
They endured pain to protect our Freedoms.
They have my undying Gratitude.
This Memorial is the least that we can do for them.
