@NASCARRELIC Just because the reverser doors are open, does not mean that the reversers are operational. On the throttle quadrant there are handles for the reversers that have 2 stages. When the main gear touchdown they are pulled to the first stop which opens and arms the reversers. Then when the nose gear touches down, they are pulled beyond the stop and act as the normal throttles do in increasing thrust. Watch some cockpit videos and you will see exactly what I am talking about.

Yes!!! i have the same problem but you have to "install" on the desktop then put every thing manually

Nicely done on the landings istrios. i'm thinking of making a vid departing from Makedonia Airport as well, but my framerate is horrible when i turn fraps on. I barely get 10-12 fps on normal autogen and scenery with high texture settings. What graphics card and processor are you using to get such smooth fps if you don't mind me asking? Cause i'm seriously thinking it's time for a hardware upgrade :)

That's a impressive rig mate. Almost twice as performable than mine :) FSX demands lots of CPU power and the i7 more than meets that demand.

Bullshit, reverse thrusters are applied as soon as the main gear touches down.

I don't understand why so many people think it's applied when the nose touches down.. it's just not true....

I don't agree with you.

When you've landed with your main landing gear the first thing and the safest thing you want to do is slowing down. When you have to wait till the nosegear touches down, you've already used up alot of runway, with a higher risk of not getting to a full stop before the end of the runway.

you see this alot in reallife landing videos.

@zendium91 I agree with you bc i tried it on my sim with a 757 also but i had plenty of room to stop at Little Rock Adams Field and i touched down at 150 mph and hade about a thousand feet to go

@jfriehl Nope. They have throttled them up before maingear touchdown. However, not with a 100% throttle, when the maingear touches down they throttle them up to full. Besides, it depends completely on the aircraft. Some of the airplanes can and some of them can't handle it.

@zendium91 Any plane can have reversers before nose gear touchdown. But no turbofans that I know of allow for reverser operation before main gear touchdown. Remember the Lauda 767 crash? As for reverser operation before nose gear touchdown, it is totally possible as the air/ground sensors are almost always located in the main gear. I am a pilot, and have flown many different types of aircraft and will arm/open the reversers and upon touchdown of the nose, power up the throttle.

I've noticed that on a few of the captain sim 757s the don't sink alarm goes off quite frequently, were you just below the GS or is that the way the sim handles?

btw, i have fs x and it doesn't work properly, it moves like a robot, any suggestions?

@camerooniepooniepoo This is completely incorrect. In the real world many airlines SOP's are to put the nose gear down before you deploy the thrust reversers. In the videos and pictures they have opened or armed the reversers but have not throttled them up. If they operated them with the nose gear off the ground and had an asymmetrical deployment then almost certainly they would not have enough directional control to remain on the runway. He used proper procedures.
