The Great Ohio Wind Storm of 2008

We drove down to Kentucky the day that Ike made his way north. That was some crazy drive down the parkway. There was no shelter and we were buffetted all over the place, hauling a pop-up camper with our high-profile van! When we got to the campground in southwestern Kentucky, the power was out. The next day, they had a water main break because of the heavy tree trucks that had to make their way through the campground's inadequate roads. We felt bad for the owners. Still, a great vacation.

That was a fun storm, I was in Canton.

up to a week. I got news for ya. In clintonville we were out for 9 days. Yikes

I live around mentor we had is bad but not as bad but i had a friend come that was surrounded by trees at his home

I was afraid that it would happen all over again when Jym Ganahl predicted 60 mph winds for the evening of February 11, 2009. That wild night, the house shook and the power lines flashed and hummed, but we kept our power. In the morning, a half-dozen pines were down on my street here in Worthington!

I'm in the central columbus area and we actually had a line in our backyard catch fire.
