@mr69mustangman1 r u fucking retarded?? why wouldn't any pianist want a steinway. Steinway & Sons makes the best piano. that statement cannot be justified it's a fact not an opinion.
@Pilotsofer no, I am not fucking retarded. I didn't intend that comment in a hateful tone, I just wanted to know why? I have a Yamaha concert grand and I love it! I didn't want a Steinway because I like the brighter tone of a Yamaha. If you like the more mellow tone of a Steinway, go ahead. I don't care; I know they make probably the best, I just prefer Yamaha. Pardon me.
@Pilotsofer I agree 100% steinway out strips yamaha so much its actually pathetic. look steinway had been making pianos for like 150 plus years and yamaha hasn't, not only that steinway specializes in pianos were as yamaha doesn't, so I think thats gonna make a difference.
@sibelius5user It's the "Apassionata" last movement, piano sonata by Beethoven. One of his three most popular. The others are the "Moonlight Sonata", the "Pathetique". A fourth is the lesser-known "Waldstein".
Now why is it that piano sales people go on to talk about the "tone and range" of an instrument only to go on to mercilessly pound upon the piano especially in the bass. A truly responsive instrument should pur and sing at even the softest dynamics.
Oh watching this was painful! Couldn't he keep up with him?! I was extremely interested but I couldn't see what he was talking about most of the time =/
if only i had enough money. honestly, im 16 and if i would have 30k i probably wouldn't even think of getting a car, or anything else for that matter, but sound equpiment.
a grand piano, a synth, a laptop, amazing speakers, amazing audio equipment (amps, receivers, EQ and filters etc.) a mixer, 2 turntables, 2 cdj's , headphones, maybe even a drum set. but i can only wish
I must admit this concert grand Yamaha piano, is the greatest instrument; that I had ever played on. But this cameraman doing this interview sucks to say the least. That man starts playing the piano, but the guy is still shooting the other end of the piano?? Get with the parade cameraman, I think you better hire another one, to be truthful with you sir.
Then you played the Fourth Variation of Mozart - Sonata # 11 In A Major - K 331. You played a lot of my favourites and nice Grand. I might be getting a Grand and it will be Yamaha C1 Grand Piano.
The only thing I am wondering about is this "one-piece ivory keytop". There is no such thing. REAL ivory keytops will always be in two pieces...the head and the tail (three if you count the front). You can tell by the dividing line between the head and tail. Is it possible you mean "synthetic" ivory, or Ivorine which is now used by Yamaha? I just didn't think that real ivory could be "molded" into the shape of an entire keytop...it's just too brittle.
my god, im just starting, practice on about a 5'2 baby grand and all I can say is how in the world do people get this good, like seriously its like you tube is full of bethovens and oscar peterson's.
Oh no, please help me. i'm so confused. I have a standard keyboard now but I've hade it for a while and no I want a new better one. (A digital piano) So what piano is best for about 1000 $? Please reply
Nice Piano, great player/salesman...he'd make me spend the extra 10 or 20K over by budget lol.....horrible camera man!!! unless you want to see zoomed in portions of the ebony case or the pins on the end of the sound board...I guess people that like pianos dont want to see the players fingers moving or seeing the action working lol
The CFIIIS has about 8 inches that aren't used toward the back of piano case. So is the soundboard and action just lifted out of this one and stuck in the 9ft body?
No, the 9' concert grand makes full use of the extra soundboard area. Although both pianos share the same components the actions are not interchangeable. The soundboard also is not the same size.
@homerboy488 hello, i bought a piano from him last year, and was extremely happy with it. I'm very familiar with pianos, as I buy many every year, and what he told me about this particular piano before I bought it, was exactly accurate when I got it. I'm sorry to hear you didn't have the same experience! ScottyJ
Beautiful piano, the bass register is nice and crisp! I don't really find there to be any dynamic character to the tone though, also it doesn't seem to handle large chords very well.
Surely you aren't going to judge the sound based on the compressed files on youtube? Sound quality from youtube is garbage at best and not much of anything to judge from :)
@Dougie085 You can still tell by the acoustics and lighting that the camera is really crappy, that is not from youtube. Youtube sounds quality options has gotten much better lately though.
I purchased a CS from Russell a couple years ago and have enjoyed endless hours of enjoyment from this magnificent instrument. Without question, the most enjoyable, rewarding purchase I have ever made and Russell was incredibly helpful in pulling it all together for me and getting the piano shipped from FL to Santa Monica, CA. Love this piano!!!
Thank you Russell! I can't wait to get this beautiful piano in my home and play it. Thanks for the wonder video and great photos of this amazing piano!
