    As for the last comment, I would respectfully disagree. The only thing the cloud guitar has in common with a Les Paul is a set neck and humbucker in the bridge, and it's an EMG at that. The neck pickup is an EMG Strat style single coil. The body is maple ( hence the bright sound) as opposed to the Paul's mahogany. I'd say it's more of a hybrid, like a PRS swamp ash or something.

    Not to be argumentative, but I've studied Prince's gear pretty extensively.

  • great playing, but to get the "purple rain" sound you have to play a les paul style, guitar with humbucker pickups. which is what the cloud guitar is based on.

  • These are fricking cool guitars...Wendy played the rhythm bits on her purple glo Rickenbacker,but good approximation on the Madcat...where did you find yours?
