As for the last comment, I would respectfully disagree. The only thing the cloud guitar has in common with a Les Paul is a set neck and humbucker in the bridge, and it's an EMG at that. The neck pickup is an EMG Strat style single coil. The body is maple ( hence the bright sound) as opposed to the Paul's mahogany. I'd say it's more of a hybrid, like a PRS swamp ash or something.
Not to be argumentative, but I've studied Prince's gear pretty extensively.
great playing, but to get the "purple rain" sound you have to play a les paul style, guitar with humbucker pickups. which is what the cloud guitar is based on.
These are fricking cool guitars...Wendy played the rhythm bits on her purple glo Rickenbacker,but good approximation on the Madcat...where did you find yours?
