  • In Your Mind by andrew gerbasi. a great tune that has serious meaning to it. Have a listen, you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant hear song. the volumes up. my earphones work. I NEED SCISSORS! 61!

  • well, skirts is right. sydney is a nightmare. its hard to know just what the hell it means

to say you are waking up to a "day". its more like a prison every fucking day. What the hell is "normal" supposed to mean? Most problems here are a function of the surreal urban nuthouse this place already is and genuine physical problems are promptly handed over to a genuine specialist or treatment protocol once identified.

Psychiatry and the police and school system are an outrageous curse

  • hahaha..that judge's sir name is hooker, wat a name..hey mr hooker, plz come over here for presiding over this court case plz....why are they naming their names anyway?

  • i love this song, wats it called?

i have to study this commercial for English.

  • @SockyAEDkyNZ

    Des'ree - You Gotta Be

  • the way to llook at it is nobody is going to hold ur hand in the big wide world. THe only person who can help you is urself. if a person is really going to kill themselves they are going to do it regardless of what help is availible. If somebody really wants ot kill themselves then they are free to do so. Im not sayings its good but if thats what you choose then nobody should shame them for it..

  • Who's ready to judge?

  • Psychotropic meds can be very dangerous! BUT when used as directed & supervised of a qualified MD they can B very helpful. These medications work differently on different people & unfortunately, often a matter of trial and error under close observation of the MD. Monitoring side effects is also very important! Treatment should also include "Therapy" to help deal w/ non-medical aspects of the illness/disorder. I gain no $ ! I do gain the ability 2 SEE more clearly & function more efficiently!!

  • Most people posting comments here are well meaning and good intentioned. It's clear that we need to ensure were very well informed about what Pharma/Drug companies are up to. Their number 1 goal is to make money after all. Yes they have a vested interest in 'creating' new 'illnesses' but we need to take a balanced view. I've learned to talk about how I feel since I started taking Prozac. And I FEEL better in myself, much better.

  • In realm of REAL medicine, do you suppose any policemen have ever had a disease or illness? Certainly so. BUT they are among those who CANNOT have a mental "illness" BECAUSE shrinks sometimes need "attack dogs" to lock someone up; they can't call cops "disordered." Main cause people sometimes act "crazy" is---they're on mind-bending psych drugs, & it does make them act in odd & sometimes violent manner. The more behaviors they can define as "illness" the greater their income. Understand?

  • Comment removed

  • 1 in 5 has a mental "illness" (fairy tale, made up illness) sometime? What a great marketing stratagem by The Clinically Normative Ones to loot the public pocketbook. But we all know don't we that The Clinically Normative Ones cannot ever have any mental "disorder" the same way Witch Finder General Matthew Hopkins could never have been a witch! Essentially, if you hit the floor with both feet in the AM, you could have a "disorder" so Tge Clinically Normative Ones can pillage funds some more.

  • You obviously are an under-educated person! In such cases my suggestion is to "Hold Thy Tongue" until you have an opportunity to further educate yourself!

  • Your comment is mere rhetoric. I have plenty of education. Your "education" comes from sources with a financial agenda of exploitation---go ahead be exploited---you deserve it. Is that all the mental "illness" mongers can do, give me ONE thumbs down at each post? I am not impressed. There are MANY videos on You Tube telling ugly facts about this horrific Mental "Health" CULT & how it's a prostitute for the grasping acquisitive PHARMA giants. I suggest you have check for organ damage.

  • It should be called and advertising not a commercials, since its not involve in introducing any products at all

  • whats the name of the song ?

  • You Gotta Be by Desree

  • "Mental illness is like any other illness" NO. Only in "mental illness" does a degree immunize those who have one from "disorders." How many cardiologists claim their degree immunizes them from cardiovascular issues? NONE. See, psychiatry is just about name calling--those who are "qualified" to do it NEVER denounce themselves. In psychiatry, when is a disease not a disease any more? Ahh--when everyone is doing it, because majorities never persecute themselves. OUTLAW PSYCHIATRY.

  • Your ignorant comment only serves to prove that you may very possibly be mentally ill yourself! Psychiatrists are trained to deal with "Chemical Imbalances" in your brain that cause one to act and re-act to situations in everyday life differently that those without the imbalances. It is parallel to how Endocrinologists deal with chemical imbalances in glands like Thyroid, Pituitary & Adrenals that cause Diseases like Hypo-Hyperthyroidism & Diabetes. Fortunately for you, Ignorance is curable!

  • Reactions are primarily learned behavior. Chemical imbalances is Big Pharma BS to bilk the public. Psych drugs are VERY TOXIC & have caused MANY RAMPAGES. Only ones who advocate psych are those who profit from it financially or otherwise, using it as hammer against adversary; & friends, relatives of psychs and those who hold their mythology in high fashion. NYT May 27 1876 p.6 editorial "A Curious Disease" said women in pants needed to be sent to "hospitals for the insane" OUTLAW PSYCHIATRY

  • Unfortunately your ignorance of this topic is not something anyone can teach you if you choose not to learn. Psychiatry, as a science, is a 'Young Science'. But with the improvements in Imaging it will become a more exact science. There is real proof of differences in the brain itself already. Things like the fact that the size of the Hypothalamus in a person with Schizophrenia and/ or Bi-Polar Disorder is different than that of people who do not have such illness'! continued...

  • Slaves who wanted to escape had "drapetomania." Women in pants were under "permanent mental hallucination" NY Times May 27 1876 p.6. There are no mental illnesses. These are labels invented for social control. This harmful movement traces to the Inquisition & the witch hunts. Why do psychiatrists "diagnose" more depression in women than men? They want women coming to see them so they can RAPE them. "If it moves--or doesn't move--it could be mentally ill & in need of treatment." GREED.

  • Reason my remarks are being given thumbs down is due to vested financial interest of people here who are members of the psych cult, or married, or dependents of such. Not because my facts are in error. The fact that you people disregard historically verified facts proves you are NOT interested in truth or fairplay, but rather, you are interested in maintaining this profitable witch hunt/Inquisition & you help irresponsible folks avoid personal responsibility for their actions. Psych is filth.

  • May I ask how old you are: what century are you living in? Mental illness is real: I thought it couldn't happen to me until it did: I blacked out for 4 months: I lost my home: my children: my respect : my digity : my job : I had to work very hard to regain my life and to get my children home with me. It was a difficult task : I was lucky I went along with people and got the treatment took med 's and got my life back on track: Grow up I it is so real.

  • R U Possessed??? or just Cynical?

  • This is such a fantastic commercial. I love the way youre introduced to what the people do for a living first great stuff x

  • i really love Vilift, it's the only thing that works for me and i love that it doesn't have any side effects.

  • I have been googling words that I could remember out of this song in the hope that I could find it.. I havent seen this ad in over 4 years due to leaving my home land.. im officially home sick!

We have some bloody good ads over there!

  • Absolutely.

I remember in the late 90's and earlier this decade, this commercial was forever on telly in New Zealand.

The great compilation of clips accompanied by a very memorable song make for a very touching end-masterpiece.

  • OMG! i havent heard this song or seen the ad for soo long! i totally forgot about it until now, i love it . i miss new zealand <3

  • We have come a long way from hysteria being due to women having a uterus, but if we say that mental illness only the result of society and there is no difference between those who and those

  • There's even the argument that mental illness is a creation of "The Man", and actually doesn't exist - just by labeling, we have a means to control potentially problematic groups.

It's also interesting to note that hysteria among women up until the biomedical health model in the 19thC, was attributed to something like "a wandering uterus".

To see how scary the confines surrounding the concept "mental illness" are, one view of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is sufficient.

  • How insulting.

  • sorry... I didn't mean to be...

As Rosenahan says, "However much we may be personally convinces we can tell the normal from the abnormal, the evidence is simply not compelling".

However, what I said before, does in no way remove the personal anguish associated with "mental illness"... But I'm reminded of what one psych professor said: "don't worry, there's something here for everyone."

It was just to highlight how little we know, and how much we assume.

  • Yeah, mental illness sucks.

  • Blah, everyone is crazy. If you sat 10 ppl in a room im sure you could diagnose everyone with SOME varying degree of a mental illness.

Just cant wait in 100 years when they look back on the whole drug industry and go.. "WOW they gave them zanax! thats so funny we use that now as a means to keep our clones under control and also as a cleaner in our space age windex, thats so funny"...

  • haha we were covering mental illness in our healthpsyc class. As an aside, our lecturer said, "don't worry, there's something here for everyone".

Mental illness, the construct of society. Something we assume knowledge about when we're floundering.

Read Rosenhan's "Being Sane in Insane Places"...

And it's terrible how once labled, you're always labled, that will always colour people's view of you, as they will be waiting for you to relapse.

  • Why not show a Kitchen with Body parts and Blood Splattered all over, and the camera pans over to a Punk Roker Dude and He says "My Kitchen looked even worse before I sought help!"

  • Excellent and powerful, good job!

  • what kind of mental ilness did they have?

  • Did you write that thinking it was funny? Wow.

  • Silly bitch.

  • This ad made me cry. Well done New Zealand. The more successful people who stand up and say they were affected and not judged by mental illness the more people Chipmunkapublishing can help. Join us and tell us your story.

  • Great ad - 5 stars!

  • Its Des'ree - Gotta Be.

  • Hay who sings this song its awesum!!!

  • It's called Gotta Be by Desiree =)
