wankel engines are garbage. they are unreliable, expensive to repair, hard to fix, burns engine oil even if it is new and guzzles fuel like a v6. if you want to complicate your motoring life buy RX 8.
...And yet, they are more reliable than whatever you drive, rev more freely, produce more power per liter than any motor in existence, and still have fewer moving parts! You just sound all booty hurt from being beaten by a full sized car with less than a 2 liter motor powering it. You can have your power limited piston motors. I'll stick with seeing how high the motor can rev and how much power my rotary can push out. Hater.
Actually, in motorsport, the rotary engine is classified as double it's actual displacement because they make so much power,and calculating rotary displacement is a bit of a hot issue among other trivial things. That's why you never hear of a rotary motor in the 2.0L exclusive rallying world.
@speed284504 thats why i posted the comment lol.. there not 1.3 litre at all lol.. a guy once explained it to me and i put my hand on my heart it was gospel fact... but it was more close to over 3.0 litre than 1.3.. people forget that theres three sides to a rotor...
@bubbles0211 you haven't any experience with wankels do you? I drift my RX7, still its rare that I use more than 1/2 quart between oil changes. It rarely breaks, the engine is factory original from 1989 with 160k miles, with many original parts still on it. Oh btw I beat the hell outta the car, redline daily, drift, and watch my 240sx friends constantly work on their "reliable" cars...
@larszs Mine is 20 years old, never been rebuilt, over 160k miles, still runs smooth with good compression and plenty of power. Oh and it still maintains just over 20mpg which is about typical of a late 80's sports car. With just an exhaust the car got noticably faster..
