@GibsonLP07 Originally I had a Yukon ring and pinion installed (3.73) with the Ford trac-loc. After a bolt backed out of the ring and trashed my rear end, I replaced the stock 7.5" rear end with the Ford 8.8" rear end (3.73 w/trac-loc) out of a Mustang GT.
Idk why there's soo much hate for V6's, yes not as much power, but the originals did come with a I6... and they still hauled ass. Then the SVO which was a 4cyl beat the 5.0's easy... It's all the same thing.
Hey man in the first video u said u had the violator mufflers, do u still have those? If so, where did u get them and how much? I like the sound and want to get some for my v6.
@williamcat15 Initially I had installed a Yukon gear set and Ford trac-loc. But after a bolt backed out of the ring and trashed my 7.5" rear end I replaced the whole rear axle with an 8.8" from new take offs.
@hibbitsb lol ejaculation basically, that's why I apologized before hand, otherwise I pretty much did the same after the vid haha I never thought you could do to the V6 like what you did, if college wasn't such a pain i'd be working part time long and hard just to do what you did.
@theonlykisboi Ahh that makes sense. I am familiar with that term when used in the context of cocaine use. I had just washed the car. Looks like a little water spewed out of the exhaust :)
@ParkerBartonMusic Thanks! It's a ProCharger. They also have kits for the 2010 V6's. You should be able to run 8-9psi without any issues. Give ProCharger a call if you have any questions. They have always been helpful to me.
@pkidro No naturally aspirated GT has been able to beat me in the 1/4m. I usually run in the low 13's but have run a few in the 12.9's. I think the supercharger loves those cool mornings at the track.
@hibbitsb hehe cool. my GT is pretty much stock with a few bolts on including 87 octane tune, did 13.7 first time on the track. funny i put down 306HP to the wheels and 312 torgue. same numbers as yours, but i bet your car is lighter. what i need is good tires and i should do alot better, cause iam always either spinning too much cant hook or shy and give it too litte of gas, so i lose time
@pkidro best investment you could ever make would be a set of drag wheels, skinnies up front with nice fat ones out back, slicks, not that street compound, use a set of wheels for the track and another set for the road, Mustangs FTW
@pkidro Running with some decent drag slicks will definitely shave some time off. I have a pair of MT's I run with at the track. I heat those babies up in the burnout box and they hook up nicely. No doubt I am still a little lighter, even with the 8.8inch rear end/axle I installed.
@pkidro Nice vid. I'll bet you shave at least .25 sec just by running with slicks. Slicks is one of the cheapest upgrades to get down the 1/4m faster that you can do. Your 60ft times will be WAY better as well.
without the headers, would you still like your mustang the way it is? i currently have a v6 stock convertable and i want to get the xcharger (im pretty sure that's what is on yours) and also the pypes true dual exhaust. also, on the pypes, do you know if the back bumper can just be cut to add in the extra pipe or do i have to order a new GT bumper?
@TheMeSoLucky I added the headers before I had the dual pypes exhaust installed. I think it gives it a deeper sound and maybe a few more HP. Either way, yes I would still love my car. I actually have the ProCharger supercharger, not the Xcharger. In terms of power, I think they produce similar numbers. My bumper is the original V6 bumper. I did the cut out for the exhaust with a Dremel tool. The Pypes exhaust kit comes with a template.
tha a fuckin sick mustang dude im currently workin on my 19974.ol 5 speed manual exploer jus lowerd it had paintid black looking for a supercharger for it but cant find one anywhere
@transamnutt Thanks man! If you are looking for a power adder for your Explorer you may end up with a Turbo. Lots of shops will install a turbo system in just about any vehicle.
@QuickSSilver98 I would argue that donating money to the red cross isn't a waste. Moreover, spending money on something you love, boats, cars or whatever you desire isn't a waste either. Sounds like perhaps you love to donate your money. I hope that makes you happy.
Quite simply, when I bought this car, I simply could not afford the additional cost of the GT and the inpact it would have had on my insurance. So for less than I would have spent on a GT, I pay the insurance for a V6 have have a car that leaves the GT owners scratching thier heads at the drag strip.
@pcfxer I get around 19mpg daily driving and 23 on the highway. I think that's close to what the GT gets. However, since I run with a supercharger I have to run premium gas. And as you might expect, I love my V6.
@7132272719 - No it IS a supercharger. Turbochargers run off exhaust gasses. Superchargers are belt driven like this one is. This is a ProCharger P1-SC. Look it up on the ProCharger website if you have doubts.
@7132272719 I think it takes a total exhaust package. Headers (very important), X-pipe or H-pipe, but the mufflers are key to the sound you want for your car.
The fact that you can see it and hear it in the beginning of the video should have put to rest any doubt that this car is supercharged. I can only attribute the lack of being able to hear it as it rolls toward the camera as an issue with the build in mic on the camera. Beyond that, I guess you can draw your own conclusions.
Sounds good! Do you think I'd need to upgrade my pistons as well? I was considering a high stall torque converter as my next upgrade to improve my 1/4m times.
Thank you! I've run a 12.98 one time, but typically I'm in the low 13's. For the bumper I created a template using the existing hole and used my Dremel tool to cut out the second hole.
That's all controlled with the SCT Xcal2 program. I installed the supercharger myself. The ProCharger kit actually came with a Diablo tuner and a basic tune, but I already had the SCT Xcal2 unit and Justin at VMP tuning worked with me on nailing the tune.
People that don't have an inferiority complex don't need a V8 to make themselves feel all big and tough on the road. My bf bought a V6 because 1) It was a heck of a lot cheaper than a GT 2) He will save himself countless dollars because for insurance because he isn't driving a V8 3) It doesn't guzzle as much gas up as a V8 and 4) It is funner to drive a sleeper.

The supercharger was about $4200. I installed it myself. I also changed the rear end gears to 3.73's and added posi-traction. The stock V6's don't have posi. You will also want to upgrade your exhaust. Have fun! Good luck!
i see you have posi-traction. is that the stock rear end? if not what kind did you put in?

GT costs more and the money u save from buying a GT can be put towards the 6 for a more improved look, plus more performance mods

@757VAwrestler
If you knew about Mustangs, you would know that the S197's 4.0L V6s are statistically more capable of power than a 4.6L V8.
THAT'S why you shouldn't get a superchared V8. But it'd be sick.

spending all that money (procharger, injectors, rear end) on a v6 makes it "cheaper" anyway that buying a V8 in the first place??
i don't think you gas mileage and total money for all the mods for a v6 makes it less expensive to run than the Gt...
or you "saved" something anyway??
