What a fantastic collection! I can only dream of being able to program like this. Have you ever considered re-doing some of the arcade conversions like Galaga which was an awful conversion of a really good game? Centipede was similarly bad. I have an emulator as I never owned a C64 but I love all of this retro stuff! Will check out your website.
fantastic ! great ! i love c64 too .. and his simply programing.
severals years ago I also created a few games ;) (morfix, numm, cubic, blob, dumi, blood hand, super pacman / search Marcel Sásik (Imaic) on gamebase64)
WOW what a nice collection, both thumbs up !! By the way, I'm very interesting on developing games for the C64, do you have any hints on where to start? I want to make something like you, but using the reserved hardware of that time, it have to be very interesting and challenging !! Thank you very much !!
Cool! Nice job. How did you learn how to program/make you own games? (do you use S.E.U.C.K./GKGM (Gary Kitchen Game Maker) at all?) Any tips for a total beginner? I have always wanted to learn, since the mid 80's when I had my C64. I use only emulators now. For starters I downloaded the C64 users & programing manual/guide. It has always been a dream of mine to program for Atar 2600, a Donkey Kong remake with all 4 boards. I've read Atari Basic/Batari is much harder than Commodore Basic.
How much would you charge to make a game for me I wanted somthin original for my daughter this year price no issue I can be reached on facebook justinsmith6303@aim.com
@herk1505 For Commodore 64 or PC? C64 is kinda "dead", except for dedicated followers. Would be like writing a play in Latin. You would probably be better off contacting somebody who knows how to use Game Maker or some similar software, to make an original PC game.
when i was i child, i did fully machine coded game too, ripped sprites on some commercial games. I still have the original disks, real C64 and Disk Drive.
If it was the late 80's early 1990's, I probably would have. Sadly I did not get into M/C programming until late 1999/early 2000, when I was reading some C64 fanzines at the time.
You could have made good money submitting these games to the Loadstar magazine. I made money once with a game called "Quest for the mad bomber" in early 1990.
man, i understand the obsession with the c64. I used to write games for it as well, years ago. But man, you could really make some real money out of these games if you switched to java. And truthfully you wouldn't even need to rewrite anything. There are a couple of java-based c64 emulators and you could maybe work with one of the developers and get some of this stuff published. I really liked the look of "jeffy" and think you might have a winner there.
The parallax scrolling backgrounds in sub hunter blew my mind, didn't know the C64 could handle that, especially not at those speeds, it looks like it plays very smoothly. Awesome.
the baloon games were really interesting, looked like it could have been a real classic if it had been made back in the day. the gameplay was easy to understand and made sense but still looked like they were difficult without being "nintendo hard".
Because it is something that I enjoy a lot as a hobby. I could go on to PC programming, but I have enjoyed the C64 since 1991. Doesn't harm to do both though. :)

@tnd64 Bit like me missing the real Domain name Gold rush! I got into it
a couple years after the million dollar names were all taken. Shame I didn't see the future when I was 16!
How long did it take you to program a game.

I was about 12 years old when I started understanding basic programming of C64. It was about the same time C64 broke. :(

@Tebok73509 Well done. looks like you mastered programming it.
But why master an old obsolete system?
I never did so I'm more than jealous
