  • Quote: "God is a way to understand the universe"

Correction: "Believing in god, is an alternative to knowing"

  • Nope, god ain't there or anywhere.

I just don't understand that ppl of this time can still be convinced by an everlasting reward for only a century of good behaviour.

  • What i have trouble with is the difference between faith and reason here . If one can know there is a God by reasoning about the universe then that isnt faith it is a logical conclusion ..If one on the other hand believes based on the word of God then what do you with reason ,,either they work hand in hand or they are opposed to one another

  • Let me start with its not if we can prove there is a god but its can you prove there isnt.... there is A god but alot of people belive in 3 6 gods no theres only one

  • Do you believe in the devil?

  • I believe that the devil is at work in the world, and that the devil tries to takes us away from our life-giving relationship with God, the world and our own self.

  • i also believe that there is a god and he loves us so much too.

  • Awesome! may God's love empower you to love others too.

  • Its pretty sad that everyone loves to hug trees and then hate their neighbor. People light candles for the dead and then disrespect the living. Everyone can argue about God existing or not till they are blue in the face. Action speaks louder than words and Jesus said "do this in memory of Me" . You know God exists because you hold him in your hands every day!

  • "You know God exists because you hold him in your hands every day!"

The Eucharist makes perfect sense to both of us because we believe. So I have no objections to what you said. I feel blessed to have the privilege to hold Jesus in my hands and receive Him in the eucharist.

But there is a whole world out there who does not see what we see in faith. God bless you!

  • And that geocentric view holds you to believing that man is of the utmost importance, hence the religious man's view that all the world is his to rape and plunder. Every animal and every plant can be sacrificed for man in your geocentric view. That's the thing about religion, it makes man disregard his place in the universe. Instead of viewing himself as a part of the whole, the religious man views himself as the reason for it all, and that sort of thinking has caused innumerable wars, etc...

  • So.... let me get this right. You view man as being the center of the universe, ie... the reason the universe exists is for us, right? Allegedly, your god created the earth for man to inhabit and everything else (the billions of other stars, other galaxies, etc....) is all just pointless filler? The bible makes no mention of any other life in the universe, so the whole purpose is for us, right?

And essentially it's a geocentric type view that christians have.

  • Wow, you have a lot of misunderstanding about the things that I believe. The problem is your disposition does not make me want to engage you in conversation about these... I have a very serious suspicion that it is useless, because you will not even consider my point of view. God be with you!

  • Your bird dance thing at the beginning would be more appropriate if you had light behind you and were projecting the shadow upon a light background.

It's pretty fitting considering that early man suffered from the "shadows on the cave walls syndrome" when he dreamed up the concept of god to explain the seasons, the stars, etc...

It's very funny how no proof of god has surfaced in the modern world. The best proof a christian can give is the bible, which is irrelevant in proving god.

  • i agree that using the Bible as proof of God's existence is wrong. In logic, it's called BEGGING THE QUESTION or CIRCULAR DEFINITION. I never use the Bible to prove God's existence.

  • yes I believe there is a God and he loves us so much.Thank you for sharing.

  • God's love be with you always! Happy 4th of July!

  • i contend that we are both athiests i just believe in one fewer god than you do.when you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why i dissmiss yours

  • huh???? I'M SORRY, I UNDERSTAND you are an ATHEIST but you BELIEVE IN MORE POSSIBLE GODS???? i was in school a lot, but this is the first time i hear something like this... :)

  • if believing in god and found out no God is definitely more serious than not believing in god at first then finding God existing later on, dont u think so? Why? if this existence has been on continuously, then, u dont have to prove if there are times when God is not present...

  • johnjohn0701: thanks for your comments. actually, if you ask me, there shouldn't be a need to rove God's existence at all, but then again... that's just me! ciao.

  • well, if the chance started with is 50/50 no matter which one u choose, its 50/50. The only chance of being winning is u knew the answer and you chose the correct one, and its 100/0 otherwise, its 0/100.

  • god doesnt exist in physical presence since we have Pope, otherwise, we wont need to use Pope as a medium to talk about the talk thousands of years ago...

  • I'm not attacking your belief or anything, but I think that argument is kinda weak, if I didn't believe in God and there turns out to be a God, you say I'd be really sorry; but I don't think thats accurate, if I make a mistake, it's a mistake and there is no need to be sorry about it, and if we are talking about a god that's worth his salt, then we'd assume that he'd be all loving and forgiving, and it wouldn't matter all that much. anyway, just wanted to say that.

  • Hahahahaaa... No, it's not kinda weak... IT"S WEAK! Remember that the argument came from Blaise Pascal, not me. And note that I also said, "I don't buy it..." I included it here just so you know that some attempts have been made to show that believing in God is even a more practical position to take. of course, we both know that it's not satisfactory. hanks for pointing that out. Ciao!!

  • AH intolerance...same here in Germany: even in religion class! They'd mock you for being "intolerant and narrow-minded" if you believe in Christ. I raised the question: is the Christian rly the intolerant one or the anti-Christian who tries to silence any opinion that goes against his own?

  • Good point. So true... :) Keep talking about it. I know it will eventually occur to others that every person HAS a god... but sometimes it's not a person but an ideology or a thing.

  • Agreed :) One thing keeps us from God: it is our choice to follow "Mammon". It's Him or something/someone else.

  • Yes, I am just discovering your channel, I have heard wonderful things about you. God bless you and I wish you much success with your channel! I am very happy you are here reaching out to the world. And I must say I am also happy the Catholic Community is growing on youtube. God bless & Peace be with you Father Hapi! :D

  • WHO could possibly be talking about me out there???!! Hmmm... :)

  • The vids I have just watched convey a charming and casual guy, so that's surely a good thing. However, just a question: Maybe I am deceived, but can it be that "Does God exist? (Part 2)" does not exist?

  • Hahahahaa. Not yet. But soon, my friend... soon. :)

  • Hahahahaaaa... I prayed that i won't get swamped. :)

  • The key to believing in God is consciousness - indeed it is. I didn't see Him until I really cleaned up and purified my world view. I was an atheist for 31 years of my life, believe it or not.

BTW why don't the atheists swamp your comments like they did mine? XD
