  • Lolz @ Diving into ice at 0:47

  • how many of these people died!? i mean come on break it down now people

  • um none? put your pussy away, the only guy that was in danger was the guy who dove into the ice head first and im pretty sure he walked away from it

  • hahahahaa

  • That's a good way to die or get hypothermia, pneumonia THEN die.

  • NEVER walk on black ice, unless its black because its right next to shore.

  • why do you think?

  • I don't know....that's why I'm asking you.

    I'm serious :O

  • black ice, if it isnt bordering the shore (but only by about a foot) is dangerous. it means the ice is shallow, and that you are much more likely to fall through it than white ice. notice how most of the ice on the video is black or grey. but ya, if you lived down south or in a city i can see how you wouldnt know this sort of thing

  • @QuitePossiblyANinja

    Oh. That makes sense :D

Thanks, we don't get snow in the bay area :/

  • Yeah, it's thinner therefore more transparent so you can see more dark water or whatever's under it.

Anyway, the guy diving into the ice and just sliding across it made me laugh.

  • @QuitePossiblyANinja

Wrong, Most likely the black ice you saw was an inch or less. Black new formed ice can hold much more weight than white ice. White ice is ice that has formed from melted snow and has a much lower density. Grey ice is most likely old ice that has started to deteriorate. I would walk on 3 inches of new black ice before walking on a foot of old grey ice.

  • do you want to walk on black ice in the middle of a lake? would you honestly take that risk?

  • @QuitePossiblyANinja

Yes I would and do. We refer to clear new ice as black ice. Once it is more than 2 inches with caution. Refer to this if you have any doubts.
