The band themselves thought it was "scrappy" at the time (the recording sessions of LZ III in mid 1970). They only released it as a single in America, thinking this kind of song would only be good for that market (and not on any album). It didn't have anything to do with "enough acoustics" or too many of them - if a song was good enough, it was going on that session's album, if it was completed. Some songs, like the Rover and No Quarter were already created, but nowhere near completion

I saw them in1970 at the Hampton Beach Casino , I was 15, I was too close to the stage, and the next day my ears were still ringing, unbelievable , God they were good !!

It headed a stellar play-list of songs by: Yes, Buffalo Springfield, Cactus, Delaney & Bonnie, Dr. John, John Prine, Laudon Wainwright III, J. Geils Band, Gordon Haskell & Jonathan Edwards.

For me it ramains as one of the greatest albums of its time....

One of the best Led Zeppelin songs ever, and quite hard to find even when it was all over the local classic rock station in the 70's/80's. I remember buying Zeppelin 8 tracks and albums trying to track down this song, and the joke was on me. I had to buy a 45 record of "The Immigrant Song" at the former Peaches records, to get this song, which was the b-side.
