The Deep South was economically depended on slavery. Their leaders believed that if slavery were ended their region would go into depression and stay there for decades. Once the European powers started to produce cotton and other textile-related products in their colonies, the South would have lost it's main cash crop. Also, go read "The Other South" about how before 1820, there were 135 anti slaver newspapers in the South. Within a year or two, they were all shut down, by "anti incendiary laws". For the next 40 years, it was a crime to even own a book that questioned slavery.

I agree this video is clever, but if you're gonna do this at least do it right. The two soldiers in the back have officers coats on, yet they carry muskets. they need to either have sabers and pistols or wear a lower rank uniform. and the lieutenant has no pistol or saber. also, as ZARIYL pointed out, they should have blue trim on their coats to signify infantry.

the only reason the north won and the south lost was because the north had double the people and weapons and had more supporting states the south was better strategy wise and only 5 to 6 percent of the south owned slaves also lee was an abolitionist

Lee disliked slavery (more or less),but claimed that their servitude was "necessary for their instruction as a race". In other words he felt that slavery was a civilizing influence for the slaves. He was NOT an abolitionist. In 1860 census there were 432,650 slaves in non-seceding states (mostly MO & KY). In the seceding states then there were 3.5 million. The 6% figure is derived by counting only the head of a household as slaveowner & counting the rest of the family as non-owners. Dishonest.
