when i'm in sunlight or around a sharp light this flickering shadow looks red in color, but appears to be black in darkness or around places where it is not much light.
I have a constant disturbing flickering shadow (could be curtain?) who never seem to disappear and feels like it's located on the inner side of my left eye's vision who follows my eye movements.
I don't think i have any flashing lights but i do have some floaters.
visual acuity is the same in both eyes so I can read fine as long as I wear glasses.
i'm only 21 years old, nearsighted (around -4 diopter) stabilized vision.
I had a detached retina when I was a baby due to premacherity. I ended up loosing my right 1 and I think getting a fold in my left so my vission is 20/400 in my self eye now and nothing in right.
I have had a detached retina in both eyes. The left for repaired with a buckle in 1989. The right hemorrhaged and detached in 2001. With 5 surgeries including a corneal transplant I never regained my vision. This clip are a great example of what a detached is and how it's repaired. Tassde Ben Bayne responding to you ?.. only symptoms was the day prior of going to the dr. was like a curtain from the left moving to the right stopping half way... always near sided a thinner retina. Good Luck to you benbayne11@yahoo.com
I have retina eye problems in both eyes.Have a macular hole in my left eye.Cant see to read with that eye.have floaters, and flashing in both eyes 5 years now.Was told by a retina specialist that the middle of my both eyes are crumbling.this happen after a fall. Now recently my right eye,is seeing spotty in light, and in the dark. Im also homebound from agoraphobia, and have a hard time getting to a doctor. They dont operate in my city, only 50 miles away.Which i could never go that far.
i went through 3 operations over 3 hours each, my retina could not be saved, and lost complete vision in my right eye. i also had cryo in my left. that was in 1993. today i see ok i still, stumble bump into peop[e, friends still toss me keys, i have no depth perception. it took some time to adjustment. it happened very sudden. how i wish i could see out of my right eye. but i know others are have it much worse than i. PLEASE dont take eye sight for granted..
@blayde94 It doesn't necessarily have to be retinal detachment. You will need to consult an eye surgeon to be sure. You can very well visit our Hospital located in chembur, Mumbai.
@GUNSFOREVER1 ......When the retina detaches, people experience a painless change in or loss of vision. People sometimes liken it to a gray curtain moving across their field of vision. This change is often accompanied by sparks or flashing lights.
I have diabetes, I know its affects the eye, can it cause floaters cause I have floaters like in 1 year. and I had diabetes in one year without knowing it. My diabetes caused by the flu (probably) last year. I was diagnosed diabetic like 5 weeks ago.
@TheWildCommenter -floaters are opacities in vitreous. they are benign, however sudden increase in floaters with hazy vision w'ld need immediate attention
@PhanChinSoon .....The vitreous is a clear gel that fills most of the space in the eye. It is located in front of the retina. With age, the vitreous pulls away from its attachments to the retina, usually without causing problems.
@PhanChinSoon im not sure what causes this, maybe near sighted people like my self, i know my right eye has a minor detachment, i believe when our eye shape changes to an oval from a round, the film inside our eyes doesn't stick, and detachments over certain periods of time, it can eventually lead to blindness....scary...as this sounds. do you have retina detachment??
I have floaters since one year ago. I think some of them have disappeared. But I should check them. I been to a eye doctor and he want to see me like in some months cause I told him that I have floaters. ;-P
@jsimon8585 What are the signs and symptoms of this? You say u have a tiny detached retina in ur right eye. Cuz I have this black line in my right eye, every time I turn my eyes it moves,.
@tassde Right eye is really blurry compare to my left eye, i believe its a tiny detachment, during my pregnancy, i saw an eye doctor and he said i had a minor detachment, nothing to worry about, but i believe if get surgery, it may be worse than before, so at this point i don't want surgery, i think for start, go see my eye doctor about this. You might have to too, when i blink i don't see any lines, over the past 3 years, i saw a yellow finger print like design 3x that popped up and goes away.
