This song has taken on a new meaning for me since my son was born a year and a half ago. It's a love like I've never felt and I'll be here ANY time he needs me. Mine and my dad's relationship has always been a little strained. He was always there, but no hugs or saying "I love you". When I became a dad I knew he must feel that same love for me. Now I have no problem wrapping my arms around him and telling him I love him.

This is the opposite of my dad. He worked as much as he could to keep the bills at bay and show me and my brother a good time whenever we saw him, cause we lived with our mum. He would take us to the beach cinema, wherever we wanted to go and still have a smile on his face even though we really knew it was pushing his budget. He got cancer two years back and hurt his back, he couldn't do that stuff anymore but he still had a smile to keep us happy. He passed away not so long ago and i miss him:(

Love this song and it reminds me of my son who is doing time in prison. He has 3 sons who I adore and I tell him that those years are gone and never can they be replaced. He loves his sons and I hope he'll make it all up 1 day. And I hope this time behind prison walls will not be too late to mend the broken hearts of his SONS.

@bronco3250 its more the fact that the dad never had any time to spend with his son, and then all of a sudden his son was all grown up. he has time now that hes retired, but his son has grown up and now he dosnt have anyfree time to spend with his father.

@tigger1234ize well if you look at it like this. the dad is unfortunatly too busy to play, but the kid keeps on saying that he wants to be like him, then he is actually kind of a douche at collage. but then the dad calls him and the kid had grown up just like him. so,... he must have done something right. I guess..... these are at least my reasons to think it's a sweet song. :)

Love this song and it reminds me of my son who is doing time in prison. He has 3 sons who I adore and I tell him that those years are gone and never can they be replaced. He loves his sons and I hope he'll make it all up 1 day. And I hope this time behind prison walls will not be too late to mend the broken hearts of his SONS.
