@Coerced Yea that's problem with WTF Taekwondo, they fight with their hands down hop around very un-balanced and cannot punch. It's damn annoying that ITF has been banned from the Olympics, ITF is the true original Taekwondo developed by General Choi and should be the only one. Damn politics has damaged the name of Taekwondo in the world.

@Fujisuka maybe loosing teeth is better than loosing ribs. there are many martial artists who can break ribs easily with kick. when your hands are too high, your arms can not protect ribs. in tkd sparring, ribs are easy target to score. that is why protecting ribs with hands down are preferred.

It also used to be that TKD was at least a decent combat sport. NOt like boxing or wrestlign. But at least decent. Now all they do is roundhouse kicks (fast kick, step by roundhouse kick..). Most guys that's all they do. Some better guys may throw a back kick here and there. But, overall, this is NOT a fighting art.

These guys are not fighters. I use to compete in TKD. I didn't know how to fight. I was a good kicker..but didn't knwo how to punch, grapple, didn't know self defense etc. NOw, to their credit, some of these guys are smart and they are very fight. So some cross train in other martial arts just for themselves.
