I was on Military Leave in Berlin when I heard the sirens so I went to CheckPoint Charlie to see what all the commotion was. I observed the wall being built right before my eyes. While on Military Duty in Germany/Europe all of us knew that at any given time WWIII could start and end all our lives,but we continued on. I also had gotten Military Air Lifts from Ramstein and Wiesbaden all over Europe. Here I was 17 years old and in the middle of this. I cherish my time in the military.
My relatives were in camps of death of Germany, at me this wall as early as hundred would stand years, I on this wall would write names of each victim there
They don't mention that an economic crisis existed because Americans were draining East German skilled workers and professionals to weaken the East. Along with putting soap into powdered milk for East German schools, trying to make poisoned cigarettes for East German leaders and placing explosives on the railway bridge between Berlin and Moscow. Which were discovered in time so hundreds of lives had been saved. Behold the Free World in action, saving us from commie bastards.
I just can't believe how the american government on november 9, 1989 said tear the berlin wall and it happened then on december 19, 1989 the next month sent soldiers to invade Panama and kill thousand of panamanian civilians for a just cause. Bullshit for convenience. They love to see countries on their feet.
I again was in Berlin when U2 Pilot Gary Powers was released and I walked within 4 feet on the Congresshalle Bridge.
