I wait in patience for the day when females may stand in line with me in an infantry platoon. If they can meet the requirements as males do, which I'm sure with effort isn't hard, then I'd be proud to rub shoulders with a fellow Devil Dog, Marine to Marine. Till' then it's about patience and persistence, and hope by the time I ship from MCRD San Diego to Camp Pendleton for SOI I'll be accompanied by some hearty fighters of the other gender. Yes I accept there's a place for women in the Armed Forces, but working in the General Support role is as close to the front line as I would have them.
It is obvious that some people do not know what they are talking about. Women have fought for this country since the Revolutionary War. A Marine is A Marine regardless of gender or race. Narrow minded people used to use the same argument for not wanting to serve next to some one of color. Women serve in 80% of MOS' in the Corps. I was a jet mechanic on FA-18s and never sat behind a desk. I loved the video. Kudos to all those serving in uniform today.

@blakeshake3jw55 In Iraq and Afghanistan there are no more front lines. Anyone could end up in a combat situation. Also in the Marine Corps if you are not infantry then you are directly supporting infantry in someway. Keep in mind that the only way to get to most positions are in convoys and last I knew if attacked Marines will dismount and destroy the enemy, regardless of who may be in the convoy. Every Marine is a rifleman.

Well I'm in the army(infantry) and there is talk about intergration.I spent two years in afghanistan and I know there are women who can do the job(even if they are harder to find!)I've seen big hard men breakdown in combat,I've seen a woman go to town with an m240b. it's all in the mind as to who is a killer it's in the training. I know there are sisters in uniform who'd love to have the oppurtunity to kill the enemies of the United States of America.

I am a (male) U.S. Marine and I do have respect for the females. I graduated O.C.S in the Summer of 09' and the females did everything we did. Not as fast but none-the-less, they did it. But I ask of this, I would prefer the females to keep their 'sexual nuance' to a minimum please. Women are not intimidating or hard enough to win wars in a combat situation. You need strong men to fight in combat, girls just act tough because your holding a gun, your still a girl and still do the flex arm hang. DO SOME PULL ups more then two. Flex arm hang is what so you can dangle while you get shot and not negotiate the obstacle. And don't compare your ability to a pussy male compare it to a MAN, a real one. Girls can try out for Royal marines but none have ever made it.

My life experience has taught me that women have the same capacity as men for war and cruelty that comes with it. It is obvious that some people do not know what they are talking about. Women have fought for this country since the Revolutionary War. A Marine is A Marine regardless of gender or race. Narrow minded people used to use the same argument for not wanting to serve next to some one of color. Women serve in 80% of MOS' in the Corps. I was a jet mechanic on FA-18s and never sat behind a desk. I loved the video. Kudos to all those serving in uniform today.

@blakeshake3jw55 In Iraq and Afghanistan there are no more front lines. Anyone could end up in a combat situation. Also in the Marine Corps if you are not infantry then you are directly supporting infantry in someway. Keep in mind that the only way to get to most positions are in convoys and last I knew if attacked Marines will dismount and destroy the enemy, regardless of who may be in the convoy. Every Marine is a rifleman.

Well I'm in the army(infantry) and there is talk about intergration.I spent two years in afghanistan and I know there are women who can do the job(even if they are harder to find!)I've seen big hard men breakdown in combat,I've seen a woman go to town with an m240b. it's all in the mind as to who is a killer it's in the training. I know there are sisters in uniform who'd love to have the oppurtunity to kill the enemies of the United States of America.

I am a (male) U.S. Marine and I do have respect for the females. I graduated O.C.S in the Summer of 09' and the females did everything we did. Not as fast but none-the-less, they did it. But I ask of this, I would prefer the females to keep their 'sexual nuance' to a minimum please. Statements such as: "nothing hotter than a girl Marine", or "Twisted steel with sex appeal".............that stuff sounds dumb. Be motivated about everything else, but just leave the girly girl stuff out of it.

You need strong men to fight in combat, girls just act tough because your holding a gun, your still a girl and still do the flex arm hang. DO SOME PULL ups more then two. Flex arm hang is what so you can dangle while you get shot and not negotiate the obstacle. And don't compare your ability to a pussy male compare it to a MAN, a real one. Girls can try out for Royal marines but none have ever made it.

My life experience has taught me that women have the same capacity as men for war and cruelty that comes with it.
