If you are using a wire be sure to insert it into the "Hi-Z" terminal(grey finger tab) and not the ground terminal. If using coax,of course screw into the "Lo-Z" coax connection. Now this is where most people make their mistake. Look for the tiny recessed switch between the "Hi-Z" and "Lo-Z" connections and slide it towards the terminal you are using. A ball point pen might be needed to move that tiny switch. That should cure a deaf frog100.

I bought an FRG new some years back. It was as deaf as a post!!
My old FRG 7 just destroyed it.
