  • 完全に肉体をコントロールする!マシン。

    途中の息の上がる所少し足を引きずっている所のリアリティに感動!

  • 7:43 That's Wilfried Romoli. He retired 3 years ago - I miss him so much!

  • A day in the life of the marvelous Madame Guillem, but the ultimate for me is Evedences, really up close and personal at 2:44,she looks well, see for yourselves......x

  • what is n°2

  • @pottermoreFUIM number 2 ... it follows the first video which is "Sylvie Guillen n°1 (rehearsal)"

  • @FyreBalletDancer ohhhhhh okay thaanks

  • there is 0% fat on that body of hers...

  • I've just seen a performance by her in La Scala,

'L'histoire de Manon.' Unbelievable! She makes it look so easy.

  • Souplesse et geste lyrique, mais si naturel ! Brava Sylvie !!!!!

  • I think it's amazing how she wears the pointe shoes w/o padding or tape. Other than the fact that she is an AMAZING dancer, how do you think she practices in pointe shoes with no padding or anything between her foot and the shoe?

  • @rudycat8 At my school we are taught without toe pads. You are not supposed to wear them.

  • I watched her emerge in the 1980's like fireworks across my personal sky. It was Nureyev's Cinderella that I watched a "million times". I still have her old pictures from Interview Magazine. And the arresting documentary: Sylvie Guillem, An Artist at Work purchased with great expectation from the now defunct Ballet Shop in New York. How I love the ballet....

  • what variation was it at the beginning

  • @slenalover kitri variation in don quiote

  • but costiume is ugly!

  • This much aerobic exercise would cause anyone to be thin. Have you never seen the olympic marathon runners? If she were anorexic her muscles would deteriorate, and she is clearly very strong. This body type is created through vigorous daily exercise, lots of lean protein, fruits, and vegetables. Perhaps something not many are familiar with.

  • @mtotheily Agreed. And that's what annoys me with people when they try to push that ballerinas don't eat. I dance, and my lean weight is not because I don't eat, it's because I don't shovel junk down my throat and sit on my ass all day watching television.

  • Wonderful

  • how in the world do you get your hair in THAT twist?!

  • @tutus4life I know right! I was just wondering that?! does she do that herself or does someone do that for her?...

  • fierce!

  • wonder what they're saying.

She is my Idol (: <3

  • i think she looks very strong. many ballerinas are thin but not death skinny. i read almost the same under a somova video. this is so annoying

  • I love the channel change at 4:06. :)

  • Her eyes are grey? This woman is fantastic, she's an amazing artist. Expressive and virtuous, she's my idol.

  • @suicidefairie yeah theyre like a hazel grey green!

  • OMG idiots who think she's anorexic!! She's a prima ballerina do you even know what amount of training they do! they work at least 6 times a week for at least 8 hours STRAIGHT! how do you not stay skinny with the considerable amount of exercise that ballerinas have to do!!! Do you think anyone would be that strong if he/she didn't eat right?!

  • @AliciaDancers i hate to break it to you, but even prima ballerina's are not immune to the disorder. just because she is an athlete in the sense that she trains for hours each day does not mean she doesn't have an eating disorder. lots of athletes train for 8 hours a day, and are not so thin that their bones are showing. and yes i do think she's be able to dance without eating healthily. women do it all the time, and even dancers like lopatkina admit to eating scarcely.

  • @AliciaDancers Ballet schools like POB pick dancers with very slender body types and work them so hard when their young and carefully control their diets. These girls are bred to be skinny, that is just how it is. It doesn't mean that she is anorexic or has an unhealthy body image. People are ignorant. Really skinny does not equal eating disorder.

  • guillem is so inspiring!! unlike dupont, whose documentary i just watched, because she seems so expressionless...

  • what's the name of the first variation?? thanks a lot

  • @klepsydro87 It's in Don Quixotte

  • she is amazing but she looks sad...

  • @vikoulii maybe just tired, worried or concentrated.. or all of it. Imagine yourself having the responsability of a major role.

  • lol 4:06 surprised me !!

  • @anakmasakini Thank you ladies :)

  • freak !!!!! she's my idol

  • its like everytime theres a moment when u just hear her breathing, it reminds me that she's human...

  • my god can not get enough from her

  • Sylvie you are best dancer! Je t´aime. =)

  • so beautiful eyes..and all of her face.

  • her mere existence makes the world a better place

  • PAYODES you are soooo right!!!!

  • どんな映像も絵になるお方ですね~

    素晴らしい。

  • Someone needs to tune that piano at the beginning, goodness!

    She's amazing; my favorite dancer. : )

  • Haha, I was thinking the same thing! It is SO out of tune!

But thankfully Sylvie is 100000% in tune!

  • Notice the epaulement...

  • wow, how pretty she is.

  • i think she doesnt have ribbons bc its easier to slip on and off your shoes during rehearsal

  • um hello awesome turn out 509

  • i think i may be addicted to these videos of her. they are absolutely stunning and she is absolutely amazing.

  • Agreed!

  • how is she considered weak?!

she has been practicing for hours. and can you imagine what her feet must look and feel like? i'm sure they're all blistered by the way she handles them.

plus look at how thin she is. dancers are amazing for doing what they do with such a strict diet.

  • I agree, ribbons are for a reason other than to look pretty. Ankles need support. Better support, less pressure and swelling.

  • Her character is supposed to have lots of confidence , and be sassy , her herself i don't believe is stuck up, and if she does...well she gets permission to sometimes because she has worked very very hard to get to where she is

  • she's supposed to be confident, smart one.

  • what are they saying?

  • Yesterday I have a dream: dancing with her.

    i don't know why i want cry when i wake up...T T

  • Guardate dal ginocchio in giù...ha delle ginocchia stupende e un collo di piede bellissimo...

    é bravissima...beata lei :)

  • Whoever said she is "weak" didn't think about the fact that's she's probably done this variation a dozen times prior to this recording - as in, she must be tired as anything after hours of rehearsing!

  • I LOVE THIS WOMAN!

  • A Magnificently beautiful woman with brainpower, temperament, and individual impeccable taste. How can one not fall in love?

  • she's amazing!

  • weak?! did you see her muscles when she took off her costume?? i understand if you dont like the style of her arms, but she is the epitomy of strength!!

  • ur jealous!!!

  • wow a HUGE improvement from her 14yr old video! HOLY CRAP!!!! I LOVE HER

  • she is absolute the greatest dance ever.. that easiness shes dancing with.. and wow her feet work

  • ditto ditto! she's amazing!

  • she is absolutly beautiful

  • wow. um the end....was.....a little disturbing lol

  • She's a dancer, her body is her career- modesty isn't even part of her vocabulary.

  • Comment removed

  • i think she's a great inspiration. it's obvious how much passion she has for what she does... if doing what you love without holding back isn't inspirational, than i don't know what is...

  • Oh yes, she does indeed seem full of "passion"...

  • Why? Simply one fact that is inspiring enough for young girls, having been discovered by a great dancer. And people tore her to pieces, called her Nureyew's pet...just like Polina Semionova has to fight in Berlin for her position, because Malakhov discovered her...."lack of elegance"..do I read envy between the lines?

  • Lol someone's slow because my mother was born in 1955 is 53 going on 54 this year.

  • if you are a dancer or not, it's irrelevant.

how can you say a person is mean just because they are from america? this is a really stupid thing to say and no, i'm not american.

can you stop spamming this video? tha ^^

  • cookie, do you really think i'd put my real age, gender and name on youtube? and btw, i was not mean. at 13 you should know how to calculate your dad's age ^^

  • did you skip your maths class? she was born in 1965 ergo she is 44

  • eek, she was born in 1965, how can she be in her mid 50s?

  • sorry but she scares me! shes so skinny looks like she's just come out of hospital. she may have amazing feet but no musicality at all plus she can't act. sorry i know loads of people love her but that is my opinion.

  • they dont look like freeds ..... maybe grishkos ?

  • no they r freeds

  • WOW! Shes still good at an older age!!!!

    Brava!!!

  • she's a ballet machine

  • what shoes does she wear?

  • mabe freeds??! :)

  • Oscarmad123, you'll get the best selection in DanceWorld in Dublin, off Parnell Street and also on Ranelagh Road. They stock Porselli, Gamba, Turning Pointe, Freed and a few other brands. If you manage to get over to London, it's a lovely experience going to Freed off St Martin's Lane.

  • she looks like my theology teacher lol.

  • ahes one of the best dancers ive ever seen!!

  • Splendida...un orgoglio per il mondo della danza!!!

  • tres bon. ce magnifique

  • c'est beau ca!

  • ela me parece tão triste..(desoleee)

  • i love the way her teacher speaks, its like good wine

  • If any of u r from Ireland can u PLEASE tell me were to get pointe shoes and not magic one..!

I live in Ireland near Cavan..

    Thank u!

  • poop on a stickkk!

i am jealoussss, for the 583579 time..

    :D:D:D:D

    oh well thoughhh.

i have a dancer who inspires me..

  • ooo and who would that be?? (joking)

  • haha?

    okay,

    Sylvie Guillem?

  • gosh!! if i was on her skin i probably could't dance straight cause i would be always afraid that that HUGE hairstyle would fall! :)

  • What type of shoe does she wear?

  • magic ones.

  • haha definetly!

  • ys..??? she dosen't have to tie ribbon right??

  • definately not from this universe!

  • un MISTERIO ALUCINANTE......

  • She is a hard warker.

    しかし、とても自然

    very

    natural!

  • La perfection...en plus elle ressemble a Isabelle Adjani..

  • She dances this variation wonderfully

  • She is just so beautiful!

  • oh sylvie. the little attitude that she has in her facial experessions around 5:50sec is amazing.

    she's the epitome of strength.

  • I wonder how muhc damage is done to her body after all these years of work.

when I comeplted the checcetti ballet levels last year, I remmeber thinking at my final exam how bad my knees, back and bones were compared to freinds who've never done ballet or anyhitng. I guess its a sacrifice

  • i agree with you!how can she have that bad feet?isnt she got used to it?i dont remember myself feeling so much pain on pointe!

  • hey i speak a little french! but very little...it seems hard to do i wouldn't like that teacher...it seems like she is pushing her too hard..but hey! what do i no about ballet! i cant even do it!

  • No afense, but I don't think the teacher's pushing her too hard. She's not even yelling or screaming- just giving corrections. No corrections is bad!

  • Oh toi avec ton "bien trop maigre c'est bon hein" on est la pour voir des sentiments exprimés a travers l'un des plus beaux arts pas pour renalncer la polemique sur les anorexiques ou les mannequins

  • That stares well needs a handrail. You have a multi million dollar dancer / athlete on a curved stares. She needs a lot of work place protection I can see. The world needs to keep her going in the best form

  • Most ballet dancers are ugly, you should be happy to be able to look at her without make up and not suddenly think less of her dancing. Besides, it's part of who she is, a natural beauty. Gives her character. =)

  • bien trop maigre....

  • What a great video..It seemed that throughout..She was in great pain..but in spite of it...the greats forget the pain while performing..In the end even her panties came off "She gave everthing she got"..WOW.

  • lol i love how she got dizzy from shaking her head with those massive earrings on.

Sylvie is truly a legend i love everything about the documentary

  • I feel for her toes' pain... gosh! It's what made me quit ballet, that pain. I don't know how they do it. She may be thin, but she is nothing but muscle, probably. Plus if she is too fat she would put a lot of weight on her toes...

  • I love sylvie G , she is my favourite, close between her and darcy bussel... but someone remove that mole... sorry but ballet is about perfection no? love her!!!!

  • ok I just can't get over it. Physically I could never be that skinny and still be healthy, and my limbs are done growing. But I'm gonna drop some pounds and maybe I'll LOOK taller. lol. I think that might be the trick

  • Just dance ALL THE TIME. Eat good food, and quit being anorexic.

You have no idea what horrible things happen to anorexic dancers, physically, besides concussions from passing out in class all the time.

  • Im not anorexic. I couldn't be if I tried. I do know all about anorexia as i've studied it. I already said that I could not be that thin and still be healthy. I could never look like that if I tried, and I dont WANT to try.I want to be a healthy weight for my height and build. I was stating that within reason, and while still maintaining a healthy weight if I did lose a few pounds I could appear longer, An optical illusion.

  • gah she is so thin and I LOVE it. And those long limbs! Jealous. Anyone know the trick to turning? haha, no primary answers please.

  • guislaine thesmar......i think...

  • who is she rehearsing with?

  • How old is Sylvie??? Pardon the ignorance.

  • She was born in Paris on February 25, 1965.

  • About the ribbons thing. Well the answer is because she doesn't need to. haha. With how strong her feet are, and considering how quickly she goes through pointe shoes, i mean you wouldn't want to tie ribbons all day in rehearsal would you?

  • Merci pour ce cadeau.

  • WOW!! I'd love to see sacred monsters!!!

  • Do you know whose production of DQ this is? It does't look like it's Nureyev's.

  • Petipa ? But I think its petia's. Expet executed a litle faster than usual

  • I read that she announced her retirement on april...anyway...I would love to see her in sacred monsters...lucky you!

  • u serious.........?!

lol no way... i never seen her performance in stage...

    T-T

  • What ? dont tell me that ! it cant be ! april 2008 ? you mean sacred monster is her last show ever ? :/ I am gonna live to the fullest when I am there in front of her, then. Cant wait

  • My dream is to see her perform this live.. will she ever do classics again ?

Anyway I 'll see her in Lyon this june in "sacred monster", which looks great too.

  • she's great! amazing, but the piano is unbelievably untuned...

how come she's dancing without the ribbons?...

  • because she's a STUD.

I think her foot is hurt in this one.

  • I have danced without ribbons for class and such before. It can save a lot of pressure on your achilles tendons, but is not as safe because the ribbons provide your ankles a lot of stability. I've only done it a few times, when I can't sacrifice being on pointe but can't wear ribbons because of AT pain. that was how it was for me at least. Not sure what her reasoning was.

  • maybe the same reason because she has her hair like that... haha

    anyway she's great

  • oddio è bravissima!

  • 6 la migliore....1 giorno anke io diventero cm te

  • merveilleuse Sylvie !!! Quelle chance j ai eu de vous rencontrer !!!

  • Please would someone tell me the title of the DVD? Movie??? Thanks :)

  • it was a documentary seen on a french channel called arte. some videos of this channel can be downloaded on its website. but this show is relatively old and i don't think you can find it on the website. but you can try, maybe....

  • GODDESS.

  • Interesting. Sylvie videos are fascinating to watch!

  • I believe her coach is Ghislaine Thesmar, a former etoile with the Paris Opera Ballet.

  • what's the title of the movie?

  • Hello Jolicrasseux!

    Who is Sylvie's coach?

    Nina

  • hayyyyy me muerooo la amoooo

    sylvie ees la mejorr
