Plus the DSi doesn't have a gameboy port. It's stupid. No new gameboy games or systems are being produced so it's not like Nintendo would lose money by keeping it on the Dsi. Also almost all gameboy advanced games you can find in stores are used. This was a stupid decision by Nintendo.

The thing is, with the gameboy no longer in production and very few gameboy games are brand new. The developer doesn't see a penny from the selling of used games. They wouldn't make any money anyway. If anything they are losing money because I doubt it's better to have a camera than a GBA slot.

The Gloss finish for the DS Lite imo is much nicer. The only downside aside from the lack of GBA compatability(not that I care personally) may in fact be the larger screens. Why? Because those DSi Screens are larger than the 3DS's, so once you get a 3DS which will be available in less than 2 months it may feel like a downgrade screen size wise. ;p

It depends on what you want. I you want a system just for gaming, then get the ds/dsi, because to me the game selection is better. But if you want a system that does a bit more for fewer (good) games, then go for the psp. I've had both and they're both respectable.

@smithy212000 The difference is 5 hours! On the lowest brightness setting, you get a max of 14 hrs, compared to the surreal 19 you supposedly get from the DS Lite. Just get the XL - you won't regret it. The XL is basically a fix-it for Nintendo's short comings and fuck-up specs for the DSi. -_-

dsi sucks if u want to play pokemon platinum etc. because sometimes you need to insert a gba pokemon game in gba slot WHILE the game (pokemon platinum, diamond etc.) is on THEN search in an area for specific pokes...... so basically if there isnt a gba cartridge in the ds then u cant catch that specific pokemon u wanted becoz it wont appear :P and pal park migration is shitty on dsi :)

I gotta disagree about the buttons. The DSi buttons, while are more clicky, are DEFINITELY less responsive, at least on the D-pad. Play any adventure game with an overhead view, and you will immediately notice the sometimes impossible diagonals. You will be pressing in a diagonal motion, but your character will NOT go diagonal unless you press down as HARD AS POSSIBLE. The original mushy DS lite was better for responsiveness, just like the the mushy-ness of all Nintendo console controllers.

i actually enjoy all three of the DSs. get the first DS if you like a really hardy console that WILL NOT break (seriously, mine got dropped on concrete and besides the minor blemish left on the shell, it was completely unaffected), get the DS Lite if you like a brighter screen, a sleeker look, and a more compact and portable console, get the DSi if you like a more casual and personal experience.

I think I like dsi more than ds lite, coz of built quality of the dsi. I quite irritated by the hinge problem on ds lite, the console feels not quite sturdy and the buttons are not very good. On the other hand, hinge is not a problem anymore with DSi, the console fells very sturdy and very quality, and the button is very clicky!! (its very fun playing Band Hero drum with DSi buttons!!) On more thing, the speaker on DSi is awesome!!!

I found that the only thing i did extensively on either ds was play ds games, and while a larger, brighter screen on the dsi was nice, i would prefer to have the longer battery life. but the time i did spend with the dsi was nice. The matte finish felt a lot better than the silicone back of the ds lite( which would put my fingers to sleep after a couple of hours gaming). And the brightness was amazing on the dsi
