You would choose carefully the songs that you sing and how you would sing them if you were singing for a dignitary. So why not for the Lord really, truly and substantially present at the Holy Sacrifice? This I believe is what MFCatholic and brestull were trying to say - choose music for the appropriate occasion.
In any case this is a solemn Mass, not just a mere gathering.

The extra instruments and embellished accompaniment are both highly inappropriate for the Palm Sunday and / or Good Friday Liturgies. Read the General Instruction of the Roman Missal . . .

Extra instruments and embellished accompaniment doesn't make it less meaningful no matter what time of the year in the church it is. Why do you focus on the minor technicalities in a rule book anyways? Does making the song more interesting make it that much less pleasing to God? Get some common sense please. Really think about what you are saying.

Helena sang at my wedding and delivered some of the most amazing versions of Ave Maria and Amazing Grace... moving some of the guests to tears. The posted songs here don't do the proper justice to her inspiring work. Hope you have the opportunity someday to hear her in person or a recording in which you can experience her incredible gift! Wonderfully talented.

Choir should not be standing in the sanctuary. That is a big no no. Your liturgist might want to check up on where the choir should stand.
