Do you know how people become volkolak in our mythology? I heard that they have to eat meat that was bitten by wolf before... It is ukrainian version i think... or from whole Polesie?

You can become vlkodlak in several ways:

(Slovak folklore):

- you are child of vampir or vlkodlak and woman.

- if your father is man, but your mother had sex with wolf in the past.

- you are born with teeth or have another defect

- you are biten by vlkodlak

- you drink water from wolf footprint. Water from animal footprints is dangerous in general, e.g. in one Slovak tale, little boy become a deer

- if dog, cat or other animal runs over your grave

this -ъl- was so called vocaled ''L'', where this voice acted as normal vocal (like i,e,a,o,u) It gave various forms in all slavic languages. Some preserved it like czech or slovak, and others changed it in some other way...

Волколак is russian word for werewolf.

And vampire is actauly comming from serbian ''вампир''. It's the only serbian word which became internationalism...

Volkolaks are werewolf-like creatures in slavic mythology. They are evil creatures, I think. If I knew well, they were persons, after became volkolaks.

Doesn't neseccery needed to be evil. Wolfs were often tothemic symbols of almost every slavic nations, and in some myths some vampires were portrayed as ''good willing'' toward living people...

Slavic variation of vampire is "VAMPIR". Even the very same word in English and other languages originates from Serbia and other South Slavic lands, along with superstition with grave digging and corpse mutilations.

Volkolak in my language "volkodlak" is a werewolf. The word alone means, someone or something with wolf's hair/fur.

VAMPIRE is from old Slavic "oper/opir" related somehow to flying. Similar words e.g. in modern Slovak are e.g. upir(vampire), netopier(bat), pero(pen), perie/operenie(plumage).

VOLK (wiolk, vlk, vuk) in "volkolak" is common Slavic word for wolf.

I find this amazing. I barely know a word Russian and I have an outright dislike National Socialism, but Volkolak's music - and not least this song - really stirs my pride for my country's - Denmark's - heathen history, culture, religion and so forth.

So I feel that this heathen pride is something that is beyond borders and nations, and could help unify the world for the better, had it not been for the Christian corruption that modern society is exposed to.

To my knowledge I don't have any slavic blood in my veins (or, no more than any dane - after all the Dane tribes migrated to Denmark from what's now Russia back with the Hunnic invasion of Europe back around year 300), but I have a deep respect for the heathen slavic traditions, as I have for most heathen cultures.

i can say that, im not totally sure, but ive been told i have a lil bit of danish genes too cause im from rijeka (croatia) and near it theres a field where obviously some danish vikings settled or maybe even raided :p, and its supposed there is only danes on that place. my uncle has a kind of mark on his hand and hes been told by a doctor its something only danes have hehe, its a whole game coming out of this :)

a very good song by Volkolak. Video clip is not as good as song, 'cause it has very poor quality and is thematically unlinked. Fights between warriors (voiny) fits for ANY video about historic battles. However this song is about forced and brutal Christianization of Slavs. And yet we see no Horde_With_The_Cross Guided by their bloodthirsty leader and killing with the name of Christ on their lips. Volkolak I like your songs and clips but PLEASE make a better one!!
