  • smashing :-) . a huge step in efficiency at work...You are Amazing ChaosGroup. keep Inventing

  • This is all very good stuff but what if you try to use Vraylightselect from outside a room through glass. I cannot get the lightselect to work at all. Also, should it work on vrayies lights ?

  • looks like it can control lights but also the GI that is generated with it which sounds impossible...

here at 4:23 he will turn it down alot but the GI effect will go away as well how can this be?

  • @bdogrular It's magic:D

  • @YannickStoot thats very technical of you...and that s a fact:)

  • @bdogrular It calculates all the contribution to the scene, including the GI. GI is layered, so the final result you see in a regular image is the result of stacking from other lights.

  • V-Ray is God.

  • is pdplayer really needed?. how can i do it on Photoshop?

  • @TheInfiniteinfinity No you don't need PD Player. Photoshop or aftereffects for animations should do the job. In-fact any layer based or even node based composting software should do the trick if you know what your doing.

  • hi if i press the pdplayer icon in frame buffer window nothing happened,,, it should run pdplayer but nothing,,,,any help??? thx

  • @vinbarg check if MAX's and pdplayer's are same bit versions 64 or 32

  • Nice feature.

There is a bug: After reloading a preset with render elements "VrayLightSelect" all lights are gone and marked as 'deleted' (but lights in scene are still there).

  • @ThePuttee u have to install PDPlayer from at its ownsite.....its another program release by chaos group.

  • Will this thing work with reflexes also, or you have to re-render?

  • This doesnt work if you are not inside the room. For instance. If you have a scene where a dome light is providing an exterior light and another light is inside a room..if the room has glass then if you try and use the above method, the glass renders black and the light contribution for that light cannot be seen. Good for the above...but it wont work with glass.

  • Great stuff! Does it also export caustics of each light?

  • @werez11 If it does, im having Vray's children.

  • Does this feature work with any compositing package than PDPlayer, like After Effects for example ?

And if it does, could tell us how to use it ?

Btw, i have the same audio problem !
