  • It is funny indeed but has really nothing to do with professional interpretation.

  • OMG, i have watched this countless times already, buyt it never stuffs being funny! So hilarious!!

  • wahahahaha

  • bongo wongo wongo, this is not my sandwich

  • Awesome. I loved the African one.

  • This is so ridiculous that you just have to laugh...

  • Hokstein, I would tend to agree with you except that in a second thought I simply say poor European countries that need identification on a tag/ table sign when other countries so rich in culture can be identified simply by an outfit or strong face characteristics. Hail them!

  • Lol

  • I couldn't stop laughing! And yet, I've actually met people who spoke 5 languages fluently, and they impressed the heck out of me.

  • I WANT TO BE AN INTERPRETER!!!!

  • I was shown this video a long time ago by a good friend as a joke. She suggested I become an interpreter since I am bilingual and she hoped I would become as good as this one! I was it every once in a while and I crack up every time. It's hilarious!

  • This is not my sandwich... <_<

  • The "Chinese" part sounds more like a cat LoL

  • I want to know where this vid comes from? Is it advertisement or what? Doeas anyone have an info on that? Anyway I;ve put this video on my web too, as example why ppl should learn one and the world num. 1 language and that's english, since then number of my students has raised up. The best is Chinese one, gosh I love that one, can't stop laughing. LOL LOL the best video I have ever seen. LOL

  • It was a sketch for Comic Relief

  • thank you very much

  • this is not my sandwichhh :D

  • hillarious, she deserves an academy award for that!!!!

  • hahaha the italian is the best XD

  • hahahahaha we watched this in Spanish class. She had us watch it to show us why we should learn foreign languages. =P she always finds crazy videos! lol!

  • OMG I have seen this over 10 times and i cant stop laughing!

  • Boy, she's good! I wonder how she learned to speak all those languages so well! She must be a genius! She's at least as good as some on-line translator programs I've seen.

  • Funny how the Europeans had their countries properly identified, while those from outside Europe were just identified based on their appearance. Token African guy, token Asian woman, token Indian subcontinent guy... Yeah, outside of Europe and North America all countries bundle together! This little detail is more offensive than the premise of foreign languages sounding like gibberish.

  • why does everything have to be so politically correct at all times?? cant we just kick back and laugh sometimes??

  • Comment removed

  • @hokstein It makes perfect sense. An asian or an african has as much trouble identifying different types of european people, as we do identifying different nationalities of asians or african people.

  • @hokstein Attention all staff! we're gonna need some more stock in aisle 4. We've run out of a 'sense of humour'.

I hate these pseudo-intellectuals like yourself that take the world seriously. Grow up and grow a pair! It's a comedy show, laugh or gtfo. Mmkay thx bye!

  • @hokstein Yeah... it's meant to be offensive.

  • this is not my sandwich :D :D :D

  • what was that with the sandwitch?

  • apparently it was a very well-known commercial in the UK and it was a reference to it. I guess an African guy said "this is not my sandwich".

  • LMAO!!!!!

  • chinese, italian, and indian are the best!

  • Toto video je opravdu super.T

  • En français ça ne m'a pas marqué, c'est peut être parce que c'est ma langue maternelle... Sinon, c'est extra :D

  • The best part was the Chinese one, LOL

  • Well that's Catherine Tate! The Donna Noble in Doctor Who S4!!!

  • i saw this in a cultural competency class....absolutely classic

  • ...gerdy XD

  • All I have to say about it is: HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

  • jjajaja spanish! we don't speak like that..

    zezezeee

  • @nanking83 In the European Spanish there's a lot of TH sounds....maybe that's why.

  • thats an interessting video, but very funny of course, the best are cinese and italian :D

  • Very funny I am interpreter myself and I really liked this video. Thank you

  • You gotta love Catherine Tate!

Has anyone seen the new one with her at the french lesson?! ahahaha! "Suis-je Derange" (Am i Bothered!!!)

Be sure to take a look!

    Klee x

  • hilarious! XD I'm Italian.

  • What show/movie is this from?

  • I'd like to know, what she says, after he asked her, if she could really translate into 7 different languages, she says: Well, i can do that, I did.......................Would you mind telling me?, thanks!

  • Well its 'I did.....in my gap year', but I can't quite make out the word. A friend of mine has the scripts book so if no-one comes up with a solution I'll take a look.

  • Ok, thank you very much!.

  • She says "I did a TEFL in my gap year" - a TEFL certificate, I imagine.

  • Thank u very much!, a last question..if an english person listen to the video, does he/she easily know that the word is TEFL?, or it's difficult to understand, even though being an english speaker? Thanks!

  • I easily understood, but I'm an English teacher. The acronym "TEFL" would not be understood by many English speakers.

  • Ah, ok ok, thanx!

  • I guess that by TEFL you mean TOEFL?

  • I almost pissed in my pants watching this!

  • very rude :)

  • hahahahaha this is the funniest thing i have ever seen!!!!!!!!

  • nice

  • lol

  • This is BRILLIANTLY funny!!! Loved....

  • LOL BRILLIANT!

  • ROTFLMAO!!! That was hilarious!!

  • that was hilarious hahaha

  • I run a translation outfit myself. Believe me, on written translations, things can get almost as bad as this! Incomprehensible mumbo-jumbo!

  • Actually, seems to me she speaks Gobbledigook She'd be great as an interpreter between Wizards and Goblins in Harry Potter, hahaha!

  • It's funny, Annamite, but do you realize it's already been posted 3 or 4 times?

No offence meant, none taken. :D

  • I hope my numerous translator and interpreter friends will forgive me, but I did think this was funny.

By the way, did you see the movie "The Interprester" starring Nicole Kidman?

  • Yes I did see the movie. I'm a professional translator myself, and we got a free preview of it when it was released. Nicole Kidman is a lot prettier than this gal. But you must say, this one knows how to sell her wares (and non-existent linguistic talents!)

  • @AnnamiteEnFrance Don't worry. I'm a translator and interpreter and I thought it was funny, too!
