  • Ideally for basic technique we recommend you start with feet hip width apart, this is usually the same width as the AC joint of the shoulder. There are many different reasons to stand with you feet shoulder width apart, eg over weight, pregnant or even just for variation. What is the definition of shoulder width, the AC joint or the outside of the shoulders?

  • I heard that the feet should be about hip width apart but no more than shoulder width apart according to a US Navy training video.
