if i remember correctly they got blown up by an explosion which got them to the future blood gulch with everyone except for church who was sent to the past.

then church waited for thousands (i think) years just to prevent the explosion from happening.he failed to stop the explosion but instead was sent to the future along with the others.so basically they are still in the future.

@pieboy620 Agent Washington was introduced in the RvB miniseries Recovery One, which was done in between seasons five and six. It's the sequel series to the miniseries in between seasons 4 and 5, Out of Mind, which follows Tex and a few other freelancers.

So basically it's Blood Gulch Chronicles: Seasons 1-4, Out of Mind, BGC: Season 5, Recovery One, Reconstruction, Relocated, Recreation, Revelation, Project Freelancer. Now season 10 is in the works.

The vast majority of this season is done in-game. During the action scenes, however, they use their own software that has an environment that LOOKS like Vahalla, and models of Spartans, guns, warthogs, etc. They do everything else without animations because they take too long to make.
