Ach don't like it when decidedly 3-piece bands get random guitarists for live sets. I know some Biffy geek is going to tell me that the guy is a long-term friend of the band or something but it doesn't matter. Biffy don't need a second guitarist, they're a 3 piece. Their sound is big enough...

Still awesome performance. Shoot the editor though. The one time when Simon isn't singing, when he's going mental instead, man cuts to a shot of the poxy fuckin crowd. I DON'T want to see them...

@anarchotrent i agree, it's a bit of a shame that great 3-pieces like biffy and muse (yeah, i'm a fan of both, deal with it :P ) have started using live members. but i kind of think it's okay that both biffy and muse have got one guy compared to bands like green day. they're just the worst excuse for a 3-piece, aren't they? i mean they've got like 17 live members, and half their songs wouldn't work without them, and they still get to call themselves a 3-piece. they shouldn't be allowed to.

@TheOfficialFush Yeh that pissed me off too. I think if a band is going to expand their sound they should either get a new permanent member or figure out how to do it with their current set-up. I suppose it's all about image in a sense though; people know Biffy as a three piece so sticking a new guy in there permanently just wouldn't fly. I think it's ok they have the brass and shit when they play The Captain cos it's needed. I dunno, I still think they're awesome...

@anarchotrent Their sound isn't always big enough, if there are two overlapped guitars in a track creating that same song live is impossible with one guitar. Take who's got a match for example, that would sound wank live without the second guitar. To get the best out of the songs that require two guitars they need two live guitars
