bevause 1080i has only half the lines of frame at one time on the screen it means 720P can show a much shaper picture because ut has the full grame up at one time but i say go with what ever looks good to your eyes. Becuse 1080i only shows half the frame at one time because its interlaced it works out to about 540p when it comes to parallel cus interlaced half the quality of parallel.

hello, i have this exact tv, when i play games on my 360 (no hdmi) it has a grainy pic and when i look around during gameplay everything has a kindof ghosts and gets outta focus, does the ps3 help clean that up?(the hdmi)

with the latest drivers and using component cables into the tv from the xbox360, you should get a sharp picture.

if you're feeding things through a switch box of some sort, then some artifacts may be introduced. if that's the case, i recommend that you look into a a/c powered component cable switch box.

as for ps3 through hdmi cables into the tv, that would provide the best possible result.

Are you sure that is a 37" inch i am getting a 42 inch for christmas and that 37 inch looks a little to big. imagine what a 42 look like.

the height of my 37" is about 26" by 37.5" wide

your 42" will be about 29" high by 43" wide

so be sure to measure where you wish to use it.

dude the maximum the 360 can run is 720p. ofcourse you can play it on a 1080p tv but youre only getting 720p quality with the xbox360. ps3 can output full 1080p support

if you have an xbox 360 just go to the system tab on the dashboard, provided you have had the update from xbox live and select the resoloution u want. You need a HD tv to get any higher than 480p anyway.On xbox 360 you can only get 1080p from either HDMI or VGA connection, component is HD but does not support 1080p

480 is the lowest def found and is found on standard def mostly tube tv's. 1080 is the highest res a tv can handle and is found on widescreen HDTV's so anything higher than 480 is high def. The box will usually say what resolutions it can support when you first buy it

I have the same TV.. its fricking amazing for a pc monitor. Thats all I use it for. PC-->DVI @ 1920x1080. No ghosting, perfect colors, nice contrast ratio, etc. For $1200, you probably won't find a better 1080p set out there.
