Hello all....I am forming an investment group to buy back the Rolling Rock brand from InBev and to return brewing to Latrobe's glass lined tanks and the original recipe. Please give this post thumbs up and contact me if you have interest in making an investment to bring Rolling Rock back home. Contact klpinvestments@gmail.com
rolling rock is good even though budweiser people took over it I think it still taste good it is one of the best beers I have tasted its better than the big 3 in my opinion which is bud, coors, miller
Rolling Rock tastes like beer watered down, my dad said it didn't use to taste like that but when I tried it I thought it was a weak beer, and I wouldn't recomend buying it if you were trying to get drunk.
I am trying to souce rolling rock in northern ireland but have had no joy with suppliers inbev or quinns. does anyone know where i can get some. thanks
Nice vid.. I was so sad when they moved it. I was raised in Latrobe/Loyalhanna and was drinking Rock since 85.. it was the only beer i would drink, No matter where i was, it was a piece of home, a reminder of friends and family and great times.. I havent had it since 2006, and im still pissed, I want my Beer back!.. Bring it back to Latrobe! It would be much better like it was, then from the Mountain springs of Newark New Jersey, wtf were they thinking!
Latrobe is where my dad was born and my grandfather was raised. I used to love going to factory I have two rolling rock shirts. I heard story after story. I miss Rolling Rock in Latrobe.
The singer is Todd Wilson from Youngstown, Pa. Rolling Rock may still say Latrobe Brewing on it but anyone that really knows the truth, is aware that Rolling Rock is made by Budwieser nowdays and it tatses nothing like the true rock did. By the way the former Latrobe Brewing Plant in Latrobe Pa now Produces Samual Admas and is owed by City Brewing of LaCrosse Wisc.
Too bad , used be my favorite beer for years . Back in the rolling rock splits 4 for a buck @ The Masthead in Buffalo,NY (1974)
Then it showed up in Atlanta and I was drinking it for a while . Till Budwieser bought it . making it in New Jersy????Thats like when i visited the Molson plant in Toronto and they told me they were making Coor's there. I asked them about the Rocky Mountain Water and they said "What" and I said OK now i know wtf is going on. Just goes to show "Drink Local!"
i live in latrobe, pa and i knew a lot of people whose lives were affected by rolling rock leaving. it put a lot of people i know out of jobs and took a lot away from the community. very nice song. thank you.
I'll always remember Rolling Rock's radio commercials in the the '60s took your mind away the Laurel Mts. that were R.R.'s home for over six decades. By the way, I had a bottle of the A.B. product--it tasted like piss!
R.I.P. Rolling Rock, and bless the workers that made a decent, regional beer. It's been one year since AB and Inbev fucked over the workers of Latrobe's Rolling Rock. Fuck you AB. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
genGam: Stela is week beer bu Europe standards-not bad though. If you want a real pilsner with taste and body, then drink Pilsner Urquell--the first pilsner ever brewed. why do yo think they call it a Pilsner beer. the beer is brewed in a town called Plzen, Czech Republic--the birthplace of the first golden pilsner beer. Plzen, Czech Republic.
that's how business goes... coca-cola is no better... they just buy whatever products sell. rolling rock is a great product i can see why the people at AB did what they did it makes good business sense to get ahold of as many stable established products and market them for themselves. Happens all the time. It's america... A free market... Get used to it.
I read that union settled and workers still got paid. Not sure I'm getting the whole story. URclueless, Isn't this Canadian Beer? IF so then who lost their jobs when the moved bottling from Canada to Latrobe?
I thought that up until 2006, Latrobe Brewing Co. had always owned Rolling Rock. What's this about Labatt's? Because ImBev has owned Labatt since '91 and I'm pretty sure ImBev owned Latrobe also. I could be wrong.
i have a bottle saved from old latrobe as a collectors item but im sure ill be desparate some night and drink it. so far 8 months without drinking it. its just a shame that this happened and is more proof that A/B is just about as big of an evil empire as the new york yankees
understood - rolling rock is no longer rolling rock < I will never ever purchase again. Oh ya - I will tell all my buddies. BIG Corp business needs to start learning.
LOL....side by side, dollar for dollar, taste for taste, A/B makes the best beer. Best ingredience, most consistant methods in the world. The fact that it's not the least expensive on the shelf and still hold very close to a 50% market share should tell all you genius' something, heh?
Whether or not A/B makes the best beer is not the point here. And no one here said anything critical of the quality of A/B beer, so I don't know who pissed in your cornflakes. Now go pour yourself a Natural Light, genius.
Rolling Rock wasnt going out of business they were making money, at the time they went under Latrobe brewery was the 5th largest and most advanced brewery in the USA. This was an act of corprate greed, because latrobe brewery was self efficient Inbev didnt want them anymore and AB just wanted the name, the heritage was not important. Rolling Rock was apart of Latrobes history and wasnt a drain on the economy. They were making money and beer until INBEV had enough.
Make bad beer, go unionized, fail in the marketplace, go out of business. That's the way the market works. If you want to continue inefficiently, you should go and work for the government. No competition. No efficiency. No layoffs. Job security. Suck at the taxpayers' teat. Solecist is right. EatPez too. But you sing Mulenberg county pretty well! :)
I wasn't criticizing the quality of the video, nor your choice of putting it up. Indeed, thanks for doing so! I was merely pointing out the bad ideology of the song writer. The guitar player/singer is pretty good! But companies are in business to make a profit, and inefficient ones SHOULD go out of business, and unionization contributes greatly to inefficiency...
Socialism sucks, especially for the poor and the working class.
Haha, you're sooo wrong. Socialism is only good for the poor and the working class. Middle class is relatively unaffected, and the rich have to give up their money. Booohooo.
Efficient businesses are bad businesses, because that means they're out for their own necks.
By the way, you know what else unionization contributed greatly to? Minimum wage laws. Child labor laws. Safety laws.
Socialistic policies increse unemployment, and reduce long-term wage growth. The rich can handle this, as they buy influence with the politicians. It is the poor and middle class who are hurt most. Min Wage laws increase unemployment among unskilled workers.
Efficient businesses are bad businesses? That is just insane. Soviet factories were more inefficient. They made worse products, and they could afford to pay only lower wages. Efficiency creates more profit AND higher wages. Unionization reduces product quality and increases prices, which reduces sales and reduces employment.
That is why unionization in the private sector is down to about 8%, while in the government sector it is up to 40%. Inefficiency is sheltered in monopolies like government agencies. Monopoly is a bad thing, and these days, most monopolies are created and maintained by the government: mail, natural gas, electricity, cable, garbage, local phone, water/sewer... All of these are forms of collectivism, which violates individual rights and makes the poor worse off.
Definately evil. We've got to take this country back. I like how he said they were "too american", and that globablization was more important. It's really a shame.
Cry me a river... Corporations are not your friends, they are your employer; you didn't get the memo? It's not their job to give you a job, it's their job to meet the bottom line. View it as good or evil, but that's the facts.
rolling rock = pisswater
