@rockyjnr10 Well if you want a real bright sound guitar, go for the telecaster. The SG sound is in the middle of the Tele and Les Paul. I own a SG and a Tele I like them both.

Obviously you play with your hands and if you suck than the instrument or amp will not save you. However ever when it comes to tone the instrument and amp play the biggest role.

I was thinkin about getting a ephiphone les paul 100 with either a line 6 spyder or a marshall amp. I lived through this period...64-69'....the S G was a great guitar BUT it was in competition with THE STRAT and the GIBSON ES....by the time it was ready to take off in 67'...Les Paul and Strats and left over Telecasters were the RAGE...because ALBUMS and music shifted in 1967.....

I like the looks of Les Paul better(NO DEVIL HORNS)but the SG is an absolutely comfy guitar to hold and play---and as he said, it doesn't weigh as much as that Les Paul----the LP feels like a concrete block with a neck and pickups attached---that's why I choose a Telecaster over the Gibsons---and the reason I like a Tele over a Strat is that when I play it I don't accidently turn volume knob down like I do when I play a Strat

The two short cutaway horns helps you to play great solos without problems !
