I don't think that Al Kooper had anything to do with this. He was not with BST when this was recorded. David Clayton Thomas on vocals. Stave Katz wrote the song

I LOVE this tune!
Great ballad, sung beautifully by DC-T, with a very delicate piano solo & gorgeous lyrics:
"My lady's arms are angel wings,
The sky her only lover."
