@TheOfficialJordanRae Yes. Houston Intercontinental (KIAH) is Continental's largest hub. It is supposed to bethe new United's largest hub once the 2 airlines merge.
Did they only start one engine up? I noticed in another video, not sure if it was your's or not, that they waited to start one of the engines until they were taxiing towards the runway. Not sure if it's CO's standard procedure or if it was a delayed engine start?
@jetfreak4 It depends on a few factors if we start one engine. Here, I'm not sure if only one engine was started, its hard to tell from this video's audio, and I honestly dont remember if this was a single engine taxi.
@goobstaa On the 800 series there isnt an official "Extended Range" variant. Although installing winglets does indeed extend the range of the airplane, they are more likely to be reffered to as 800W, where the "w" informs that the airplane has winglets.
@goobstaa An "Extended Range" aircraft, like the 900ER actualy has an additional Fuel capacity of 1,000 gallons US. That is why simply putting winglets on a 900 does not make it an ER, it is the additional fuel capacity that gives it the title of ER, along with a few other changes of course. Hope this helps....
The idle Groaning on a CFM always sounds like a minor chord to me. You can make that exact same groaning noise from a CFM on a keyboard: just hold Middle "C" then while holding "C" go 1 octave higher & hold D#. Bend the pitch up & down you get the effect of mixed-thrust taxiing
I love the sound of that hum between 0:07 and 0:16

I like it when the plane gets really high pitched before the plane moves :) Exciting holiday begins then :)

yah it does have a much longer wing than i remember it having. weird. lol do you remember what seat this was?
goobstaa 2 years ago
Perhaps you are thinking of an earlier 737 model, which has shorter wings... I remember this seat being around row 20, give or take...

damn the 800 has a long wing. :)
USMarines4ever 2 years ago
each wing is about 50 feet long. The total wingspan (Both wing lengths) is 115ft with winglets.
