  • There is so much emotion that rises when listening to this. Joe's music is really in it's own category.

  • I thought i'll never be a child again. And then i took Hisaishi and Miyazaki in the heart.

    Love Joe Hisaishi .

  • This is....just the best. I listen to this every time I do online math and after 3 or 4 months I NEVER get tired of listening to it.

  • Yoshihisa Hirano and Hisaishi!!!!! Epicness and Beauty in one!

  • I would love to just play one song on a piano like that. :'D

  • 05:27 賢者タイム

  • oh my god, my headphones are all wet!

  • God knew what Beauty was lying in the human Heart, thus he asked for his Angels to kneel before His beloved Human Being ... it makes sense when we listen to such melody ...

  • There are empty seats there!? I must be dreaming!!!

  • I have so much respect for this musical god. It would feel rude to stop or talk over his playing.

  • チェロの演奏始まったとき、鳥肌が立った。

    やはり久石さんの曲が大好きだ。

  • 很强大

  • I wish I could go to a Joe Hisaishi concert :(

  • Can anyone help me to translate the titel? I think it means `like the road of the wind‘ But I am not sure...

  • @TheIndigoAurora For the second part, yes, it measn somethink like "road of wind" or "tunnel of wind". The part (different verssion) is used for the animation "Tonari no Totoro", which I belive is teaching the importance of having pure mind like children and paying respect to nature. It is not merely an animation for childen but has some deep meaning. Mr. Hisaish's music carries this message very well.

  • @TheIndigoAurora it means "the path of wind".....

  • it means the path of wind....

  • @Nathan51918 Yes, that's right.

  • I'm crying because it's so deep and amazing.

  • This is the reason right here. This is why I'm learning how to play the cello :')

  • heart warming

  • @ItsumoKokoroniTaiyou 君の日本語は分かりません。Your Japanese is hard to understand.

  • Good Work!!

  • whats this song called sorry i dont understand the japanese part at the end

  • @puddingsoupi "The wind forest"

  • It's funny how i know the name of the music director of Studio Ghibli's films before the actual director...

  • I would love for Nobuo Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi and Hayao Miyzaki to work together.

The universe would shake from the amazingness.

  • @theblueshuttle Who's Nobuo Uematsu? and is Hayao Miyzaki one of the main founders of studio ghibli? I 100% love Joe Hisaishi's music, so if you're mentioning these 2 people among him as equals, then i'd like to know about them!

  • @Grriffinn Nobuo Uematsu is a violinist who plays as the concert master at Joe Hisaishi’s concerts. Hayao Miyazaki is a very very famous Japanese animation cartoonists and Joe Hisaishi wrote the sound tracks for the animation movies Hayao Miyazaki created. This is how Joe Hisaishi became famous.

  • @Tommy57736 Nobuo Uematsu is known for Final Fantasy soundtracks.

  • @theblueshuttle Joe Hisaishi's songs were in Hayao Miyazaki's films as soundtracks like My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away (:

  • anyone can tell me what concert is this? thanks :)

  • The music is soooooo awesome... but the sound quality is just soooooo bad...

I really need to get me that DVD...

  • The master of music can touched your soul !

    That's him...

  • I advice everyone to go to rainymood(dot)com and listen to the rain pouring while this song is playing. It is amazing. You're welcome.

  • @Blackmetalstudios Thank you very much : )

  • @Blackmetalstudios Omg, really good idea! im doing it right now :)

  • @Blackmetalstudios and remove 1 ) on volume for more of Joe Hisaishi's angelic piano sound!

  • This only has 6 dislikes for a reason O__O This is beautiful..I could listen to this aaaaaaaall day.

  • @FilmScoreFanatic1 I can't believe someone could dislike this music! :(

  • Japan forever....

  • <3 <3

  • for the first time in a good long while, i feel relaxed. and it feels really good

  • The is no words to explain what i feel by listen this

  • wonderful & beautiful *.* <3

  • thumbs up if you think the people that disliked this should be cast into an eternal flame.

  • @Zamora362 You must learn to see with eyes unclouded by hate.

  • @dim3tapp you misunderstand what I said i never used the word hate. what I said does not mean that i hate them nor like them.

  • @Zamora362 one would not wish for people he likes to be "cast into the eternal flame" as u put it. and opposite of like would be dislike. hate is only a more stronger emotional replacement for dislike. i think everyone understood each other quite well here

  • @DonMega187 Try to live a day in my shoes when i was little. being cast away by society by my peers, having little to no friends, wanting every single day just to end. try living like this and see if you come out with any emotions but anger not disliking or hating others.

  • @Zamora362 Lol some pretty crappy shoes you got there

  • I`m almost crying at the ending.

  • Six people must've been blinded by the epicness of this and pressed dislike by mistake

  • They always smile so happily....

  • ;-; I WANTED TO BE THERE AT THAT MOMENT SOB

  • This is simply amazing...i could shed tears to this...

  • you know that feeling when you're getting shivers and you can't stop the shaking?

that's what we call an eargasm. enjoy.

  • what is the name of the second song?

  • @just2000ofme in English it's tunnel of wind, literally translated it means "Path of the Wind". It's from the anime "My Neighbor Totoro." Beautiful isn't it? :D

  • @OriginalJedisheep yes I love it!

  • totoro palys tototo

  • AAAHHH! The sound of Japan........

  • absolutely beautiful...one of my favs

  • Sitting at my desk in tears. Absolutely beautiful.

  • If all the world could hear this play at the same time, I'd wager you would be able to hear a pin drop clear across the earth. There's a beauty in each of his chords that leaves breath baited and the mind captured. Pure absolute Wonder=Joe Hisaishi.

  • @HowlingMonki too bad the world doesnt know how to appreciate good music like this. they just love mainstream crap.

  • c'est juste le meilleur !

  • This is so flawless and beautiful. :,)

  • those last 4 minutes or so....

    pure beauty. ;)

  • Pretty sure that 6 people clicked dislike by accident.

  • Could somehow see this in KH/FF ^_^ Hisaishi did a great job here, like usual :D

  • the cello sounds so breathtaking in this one..

  • a beautiful song

  • A beautifoul song

  • I would love for Nobuo Uematsu and Joe Hisaishi to Collaborate.

The world would explode from how Amazing it would be.

  • @JordoHC why isn't you comment up there?

  • @JordoHC D: that would be incredible!

  • @JordoHC That would be asbolutely amazing, Nobuo Uematsu is one of my favourite artists.

  • @JordoHC I think they have alredy decided to collaborate. They choose 21st december 2012. It's the only possible way to explain why Maya predicted the end of the world for that day.

  • @JordoHC stop understating it. It would create a rip in the space-time continuum and make a wormhole that would take the universe into a parallel dimension

  • @JordoHC i think they're too different

  • @JordoHC and 9 celli!

  • @JordoHC My pants would explode first : )

  • Why are death people lisenting to this, and why are those 6 person hitting the wrong button? You know it's going to be good without even lisenting to it

  • the cello solo's lovely~~~

  • oh my.

    <3

  • personally i credit the abstract meanderings of mid-20C composer like John Cage for influencing contemporary theme transpositions of once traditional melodies not only in japan, but also the indigenous americas, china, and arabic cultures. when the streaming consciounsess of ancient minds overwhelm the young we will rejoice.

  • @kellyanquoe Profound!

  • sounds like it came from an anime.

  • @MadMacheart: "My Neighbor Totoro"

  • @chinopisces the second song...the first one is an original composition of Joe's early years!

  • This man is so gifted with talent that brings ppl driven into a magical world where all imagination is beyond believe. I believe that he will never die, because all of his works remain in people's hearts whose been taken into his world.

  • Does anyone know where to find the sheet music? If you could link it to me itd be really appreciated!

  • There's something so intensely personal about his music. It's like he's giving us a glimpse into his private thoughts, the things he feels when he's all alone and thinking about life. It just draws you into a whole other world, rich with emotion and subtlety. And I just love that place. I could live in Joe Hisaishi's head. He probably thinks in music.

  • The tone of that cello is simply stunning. Spine-tingling performance :)

  • Music itself is life; Without it, humans will cease to exist.

  • i think i'm having an eargasm..

  • HEY!!!!!!

    That's the music from "Tottoro"

    It's wonderful with acoustic instruments!!!

  • Sounds like rain in the spring!

  • when a piece of music allows you to sit in the dark at night and see the sun shining and feel the wind on your body as the best of your memories are brought to the surface .... thats when you know it's indescribably excellent

  • There are times I wish I could be with her again, her smile, her laugh, her face, it would make my days worth while again. She just wasn't my girlfriend, she was my best friend. I'm sorry I took that for granted, I'm sorry I took her for granted. She was the love of my life. though I may love other women like her I'll never love another woman like that again. It's been four years and I still love and miss her so dearly. I'm so sorry bunny.

  • @evil10 ?

  • @justapersonlikeyou The music reminded me of a time I was with a girl I fell in love with.

  • @evil10 ah, i see. i thought you were some crazy person ranting on and on who posts the same message on every video you watch... :)

  • I don't know why, because this is so beautiful, but I am sad now, very sad.

And I have no idea why.

  • @TheStrawberryHime It's because Hisaishi's compositions have the power to pierce deep into your heart and show you the beauty of the musical whisper. But if you have the heart to listen, it will also sooth your heart all the while it shows you that mabe life isn't so harsh after all.

  • How can 6 people dislike this? Its bloody amazing.

  • this is ridiculously beautiful..

  • Esplendido, sublime, notable, espectacular... y simplemente perfecto un musico con todo el sentido de la palabra.. de los grandes compositores del mundo Hisaishi, saludos desde La Ceiba, Honduras!

  • I swear my soul was literally moved when I heard this song.

  • great song!!!!

  • genius jamming with oriental wind

  • Really beautiful. Love it.

  • The 6 people who, for some reason, dislike this song need to get a baseball bat stuck up there asses while being run over by a group of wild boar

  • He is coming tomorrow~~

  • If I could like this song a thousand times, I would. It sounds so beautiful with just a piano and a cello (or cellos), I've heard other versions that aren't as good (if you can believe it) that incorporate too many instruments. The simplicity highlights the beauty.

  • i like his smile. :)

  • are there any cello and piano sheet music for the second song?!!

Omgosh I want to try and play that T_T

  • it is beautiful and magnificent. no words can describe how great this masterpiece is!

  • i cry when i listen to the slol cello and the piano

  • I've seen Nobuo Uematsu, I'm seeing Ryuichi Sakamoto Oct 24, all that's left on my list is Joe Hisaishi. The problem is he hasn't come to the U.S. in forever, I really wish he would do a North American Tour. Everybody go to his japanese website, which google will translate, and ask for a U.S./Canada tour! maybe it'll work!

  • I used to play the piano, but quite because I didn't like it. I play an instrument now, but nothing compares to the the amazing things that Mr. Hisaishi can do. This has inspired me to continue trying at the piano. And when i finally get it, you know i will be playing his music over and over and over again, and his wonderful words shall be spread throughout the world. Thank you Joe Hiaishi, for inspiring so many, and giving us hope.

  • he's a master

  • amazing................his music are so heart touching........no matter what kind of music he makes it always reaches your heart..........like madness, it isnt a a peaceful song but every note rang inside my ear perfectly and it makes it beautiful......every music of his have the same effect....if not then better

  • 3:21 , every single time, waves of chills and goosebumps flow over my arms and legs. words can't describe how much this man's music has influenced my life

  • Sweet jerking tears, but I am in awe of this man!

  • i just really love how this music can tell a story so moving and emotional without saying a word.

  • Joe Hisaishi est vraiment magnifique!

  • Absolutely incredible. I feel like I've heard it before.....is it from a Studio Ghibli movie?

  • @Mperce No, it's from his album 'Pretender' (1989).

  • @Blanis86 Ah. I shall now go try and find this album on iTunes!

  • Never failing to provoke a cry from my heart my soul reachs out and smiles knowing that untainted beauty still exists in a world overturned by meaningless tunes

  • how I want that waterbottle as some souvenir.....

  • Joe Hisaishi never fails at making songs that make my heart tighten.

  • The best ever!

  • 6 ppl are deft

  • Amazing... The songs are really touching.
