Installing Windows 7 on Virtual Box Part 2

right now i'm downloading the beta on virtual box but at first i wanted to download it onto my backup drive and once finished downloading, i couldn't finish set up the OS but i don't know why so i just installed to main hard drive and works!!

1 question.

If you install it over the vista operating system without virtualbox, will your files carry over to the beta?

I don't believe so, because you're still installing a new operating system over the current partition. I suggest backing up your files, saving all your product registration keys so you can reinstall the programs that need them on the beta, installing the beta, and finally moving your files back from the disks/server/external hard drive to the beta.

Do you mean if you install the operating system on the computer itself or install it over another virtuallly running operating system?
