All very good points, Brian. Case in point, when you came to Santa Monica. I knew we'd all be talking shop to a certain extent, but I was stoked on how much I learned from you guys! Got me super motivated to get into the mobile game when I'm out of school. Hopefully I'll see you at MBLV or NAMM in 2010!
I think all of your videos are awesome. Keep them coming. I am just starting to do Dj work and some kararoke and you have gotten me so far by your videos. Thanks from a fellow Wisconsinite
nice to see you Brian.....sorry my friend looking less likely for vegas will have to spend my money and make a visit later this year!!!!!........house is coming on cool......
Your right ..We hardly ever go to the classes but we all sit around and do round tables with a big group of us. It works great , Every year i learn alot from other dj's even though alot of stuff cant be use here in Vegas but i have a blast networking and seeing all the dj's that come here every year. The only thing alot of the vets of the convention wish is that they would get out of the 100 level classes and have more for us that need the 400 level classes ...other than that it's a great event
Just booked a flight to vegas, could not pass up the deal for 98 bucks each way......so my total AIRFLIGHT from Houston to Vegas is 213.70 roundtrip hotel for 3 days at the Riviera is 192.69....That just leaves the cost of the Conference Pass.....405 aint bad is it?
I expected you to post this video, after seeing your sequence of comments in your last video.
Its great as a mobile dj to get customer feedback that they're doing a great job. Its great for a mobile dj to see what other mobile dj's are doing to get ideas. Its great to see and hear some ideas in a YT video.
Its better to see and share those ideas in person to get all the details...
Sorry, I won't be able to attend mobile beat this year, however 2 things I would like for you to know is that 1. I will be seen a whole lot more on YT and 2. I am making plans to go to Vegas in 2010!
I feel that events such as mobile beat are an important part of one's Professional Development and winter up here absolutely sucks ass. You guys down in WI got it good! haha
Also like to show my respect to DJ Matt Cotter. Anyone who hasn't seen his vids, go check em out! He's from MI! G8 Vid!
yeah i meant the comment as an interpretation of what i thought & some other people might be thinking as well. defiantly shed some new light on these shows for me!
I'm in Toledo OH, now actually at college full time. :)
Well I think your interpretation is just as valid as anyone else's. I also share many of your views and I understand, I'm at least a good 1800 more miles away up in eastern Canada, I also feel that the more dj's who get the opportunity to speak the better it will be for everyone.
Are you a member of the American Disc Jockey Association? Or the Canadian Disc Jockey Association. If you are they have great resources in all sorts of stuff relating to insurance and as for a business licenses, that depends on your state province or territory. Here in Newfoundland, you don't need to register a sole proprietor for example.
What you do to legally set up your business depends on where you live. Different states require different things so find out what your state requires.
You can purchase liability insurance thru a few sources out there. Wedj has a good deal for thier members.
