  • I think its because of the feeling it gives off. The actual death music sounds... grim.... compared to the rest. of course, that's a personal opinion.

  • My opinion is you have to get hit by the butt of the rifle for the music to REALLY turn on x| Otherwise its not much of a death xp

  • NOTE: At the ripped OST on various places, it contains the Failure Music (even a guy what put the K Rool on Stronghold Showdown did heard the music death on K. Rool...

May they not put... placed to be an DEATH OF STRONGHOLD SHOWDOWN... But they decided to make K. Rool on the flying krok, may that's because they forget...

  • No possible SRAM space?

DKC 2 have a big memory inside...

    May that's because

  • @gabrielwojcikiewicz Thats what I'm thinking

  • i recently discovered by re playing this game that if you get to have 99+ lives the little number on the corner doesnt change from 99 to 98 if you lose a life... like if you have 102 lives the number shows 99 but changes to 98 once you lose 4 lives... i dont know if i make myself clear... but it was a curious discovery

  • @vampcorpse Yeah, I noticed that too. A lot of Rare games do that, like the Donkey Kong Land games and Banjo-Kazooie.

  • well to me no music kinda makes u think " well im dead life will go on and poor donkey and diddy"

  • I think it gives a feeling of "OK, you died, try again..." rather than "HAHA! You lost!"

  • Haha. I love when you die you hear the little, ow or ooh, then the little life balloon pops.

  • I always thought it was for dramatic effect...

  • There is a video on youtube which plays the music that should have played, not sure the reason they left it out tho, would have been cool

  • k rool song is sooo awesome that should must never stop!!!!!

  • I'm SO going to try putting that death music like if it had happened for real, just to see what it would really sound like.

  • I wonder if I could put death music in via a hex editor... ten bucks that it's just two bytes that need to be changed.

  • Probably. DKL2 and DKL3 were programmed like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if the DKC games were like that too.

  • Same here.

  • lol that's so messed up with the music not changing probaly cuz nintendo made a mistake or sumthin

  • DK2 is a great game, but it has so many little glitches scattered throughout it, I could go on for hours. But I think Rare intentionally left the death music out.

  • yeah, i remember when there was no music i got scared, good times.

  • tienes razon ¿ donde esta ?

  • Well, here, in my dkc 2 in videogame that happens exatly this video.

  • K.Rool's battle music is so awesome it keep playing when he kicks you ass lol

  • Haha yeah. As cool as the death music for this battle is, it sounds strange switching from the normal music to the death music.

  • Wow.

  • game flaw.

    that's all.

  • Its a design choice. It was probably left out as to not ruin the dramatic effect of the final boss fight.

  • most likely right

  • Except have you heard the removed death tune? It's pretty dramamtic, and has a slightly different tune to all the others aswell.

  • that happens to me.

  • It was made that way... not a glitch...

  • yea there is a death song 4 him i just never heard it

  • I think because it was K.Rool that you are fighting, the death music wasn't supposed to be there if you did die or not. To me, it was more of K.Rool saying, "I'm still alive!"

  • Before I forget it...

I think they decided to not trigger the Death Music so that the "Ouch" sound effect plays. Normally it doesn't. And sometimes you would be able to hear it but just for less than half a second.

In DKC3 it plays but because they game is programmed so that if you die or beat the level every sound effect would not be played except for "ouch", "cry", "baloon pop", "coin collected", "coin appearing" and the "level flag raising".

  • Here's what the death music was supposed to sound like: sNV4E6bTv1w

  • Same As The Unreleased Jaws Music Called Quint's Death.

  • i called nintendo about this and they didn't even know

  • it's cause the battle music is so awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • I've heard a soundtrack video that included the death tone when you die in the battle against K. Rool. My guess is that there was death music, but they decided not to put it in, as it would somehow interfere with the K. Rool battle song.

  • Yes. It's still interesting though to why there still is death music on the soundtrack.

PS: That death music is the best! I wonder if they didn't put it because it would make people WANT to lose!

  • @NewYoshiGuy731 Probably that it scares the heck out of the kids xD

  • so thats whats in the core

  • Kaptian K.rool.

  • I know that... I just got done seeing the vid and I said it in a way that sounded nothing like "Whats in the core?"

  • maybe the cartiges is to small

  • I change my mine,

the music is maybe cut becuase it is so creepy

  • crazy they didnt think about death music

  • I would like to hear the death music too.

  • Yeah, I noticed this a year ago. I have the DKC2 soundtrack on tape and from 2002-2006, this single music track near the end of the tape always bothered me. I then found out it was an unused tune that was suppose to play if you died in the K.Rool battles.

Strange that it's not used even though it's still in the game.

  • Maybe because the battle music overwrite the death music for those levels.

    Preety unlikly though.

  • you rest your case.

  • Strange. I have the disc of all DKC2's music, and the death music of K. Tool is on it! I wonder why it wasn't added to the game...

  • your right

  • maybe I can game genie it

  • Odd. Dunno why they won't play it... :S

  • like what I say might be in the beta version of the game.

  • Wow, that's weird!!!

So what would you have had prefered, that it had the Death Music or that it stays like this?

  • It would have been way better if it had the death music. =/

  • cool never noticed that. five stars.
