To what I heard of Steve's father was an American Ambasador to Thailand in the earlier 60"s or 70"s. For that matter, Steve, to a degree, was raised in Thailand. He is very knowledgibale about Asian politics, especially in the Southeast Asian region. He is from Minnesota, USA.

Foreigner did not expect to be treated like royalty, Thais treat foreigners as royalty because they are hospitable people. And foreigners do not treat Asians as "negro". You think that way due to your own mentality and inferiority. Don't blame others for your own inferior complex.

correct! good interview.... the problem of Thailand now is Thaksin has too much money and power... money is the first step to become a bad politician! why Thai people accepted money so easy because those Thai are got no pride in themselves! even a 500 baht... Thai people today became a greedy person same as Thaksin... And just who is this blowhard? The guy just supports anti-democatic policies. The red shirts have plenty to compain about, and while it is a shame they have thrown their lot in with Thaksin, the elite in this country (whom Stephen seems to think are so wise and wonderful) have squeezed the poor for centuries and it is time they gave something back.

A poster above commended his braveness... in fact this is the safest stance he could takeon the situation.
