wake up u stupid students, the reason that there are savings being made to all government spending now is because the last government left us in so much debt that the country is skint/broke/no money, and us simple TAXPAYERS can no longer afford to let u study subjects like the history of art or politics at our expense , so wake up smell the coffee and realise that if this generation of TAXPAYERS does not pay of the debt then YOU will have to in the future your choice!!!!!
Why does no one give a fuck about your peaceful marching?
Because it achieves sod all, be violent of just don't bother really
These protests got so much coverage due to police casualties and criminal damage, not because some silly rich girl (whos so deluded she thinks some sort of skinks character) made a lovely banner with felt some tip pens
I am one of the peaceful protesters, but I do not condemn the violence. Without the violence and destruction, most of the media coverage would not have been so extensive, there would be less awareness now. Some sacrifice must be made for the greater good. I do not agree with setting christmas trees on fire and things that don't really help. If we keep peaceful forever, nothing will ever change. They will not stop without a fight (the government).
what the majority of peaceful protestors did was brilliant, but this video is so extremely divisive. its all for the same cause, and you dont get to decide who is or isnt part of the '50000 students'. of course it wasnt the majority, but that doesnt mean that the people who did it were any less a part of it. if you really think that all your views on education can be represented by one little boy, whoever he is then that is pretty sad. you are playing straight into the divide and conquer tactic
I was at the Edinburgh & London demos in Nov. '97 which was just after Labour had first introduced tuition fees. Thousands of us marched peacefully and after we brought London to a standstill there was almost zero press coverage. After these recent protests, I'm astounded at the press coverage - and I'm sure its not because of the students who marched peacefully. ;)
bollocks the labour nus leader does not represent the majority...and without the violence no one would of known you even had a demostration....this is more labour crap.

Yeah and were did it get you, sorry but did they listen? The police are to blame for a lot of it, and compared to the government criminals war crimes, it's nothing!
I love this video. I was at a smaller protest, we met at the university then marched down a main road with students from local schools, colleges and universities. We went through the streets and the police made barriers to keep us away from the centre, so we found other places. It was over by about 5pm. Yet then I turn on the news and they took one isolated act of violence by a protester and ran with it. Please, at the upcoming protests, don't give them anything else to report but the cause.
Hi I'm from University of Derby and I'm the Black Student Lib Officer and can I just take tthe time out to thank you for making this video. It's exactly what I remember.
Fantastic video! So good - said everything I wanted to say. It was an incredible day and it was an overwhelming majority that were peaceful - my experience was very similar to yours, and I think many others' was too. Thank you for saying it far more eloquently than me! :)
This is an excellent video and Liverpool agrees with you entirely. We'll make sure this is seen by as many as we can. Good luck and here's to the future...
guys! Sorry but its time to wake up! This world is in serious danger. Climate change, poverty, wars, you name it, sexism, racism, divided by classes, by sexual orientation, by imperialism, come on, why you defending the tory scums HQ. Yeh one guy threw a fire extinguisher which was violent, but most of the violence to police was self defense, n criminal damage is not hurting human beings... or animals... or our environment... sober up and see the truth of the world... revolution is what we need

Sellout video. Aaron Poster is a labour scum bag.
What you going to do when police get violent with you?
Show solidarity with those who were at the receiving end of violent police action instead. Or you too afraid to do so?

@bigmadbad Not to mention a pigs son. Aaron Porter CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.

I think violence is what is needed at these things. It is usually the police that provokes it anyway.
mikesmith1007 1 year ago
@mikesmith1007 ~ true say. one would have to be living in a bubble to Assume that all these 'peaceful protests' will actually make any difference.
Not everyone has the spare time/money to attend/do this every now & again, especially nowadays (seein the financial crisis we're already in).
Desperate times call for desperate measures, & only such actions will leave a scar &bare as a reminder

Violence from those who "dont represent you" is a thing which is provoked by the police! It´s an RE-action!
Dont let people down who fight for the others, thats NOT fair!
Every protester has a right to do what he thinks thats useful against the system...

Its ignorant to say 'theese people dont represent us' They ARE a part of 'us'
