Comments re this is improv' .... this is playing patterns - which is a useful grounding / beginning. It is not improv' which is spontaneous ... you can incorporate licks and scalar sequential patterns BUT you need some melodic material to hold it together, and that's where it becomes 'you'
you got some pretty good material but the way you're swinging the eighth notes is somewhat elementary. put a little more stank on it. and try to go outside of the so-called 'blues scale'. play different notes besides 1, flat 3, 4, flat 5, 5, flat 7.listen to some count basie or lee morgan and you'll see what i mean

Thanks, my method actually limits the player first on one thing, before getting out. It makes him more aware of what he's playing.
