this isnt a justification but a background lesson.

the sikhs and hindu "punjabis" (both of the khatri caste) in delhi are a parasitic bunch who arrived as refugees in 1947. since then, they sleazed their way to large land holdings and businesses at the expense of local jaat, gujar, and muslim natives. their stories will never be told. this was a populous riot against an exploitative minority... not indicative of hindu religion. and something similar will probably happen again.

for thousands of years india has been an agrarian society and these punjabi khatris hav no agrarian background to till a land nor the might to acquire it through military means.

yes it will probably happen again as such events are rooted in social inequality and at the moment india is splitting further into very rich and very poor.

I think that the sikhs are very patriotic and i am not doubting that but for a second just put aside religious differences and understand that a small minority of Sikhs were separatists and were fighting the state your country ( and thanks to the sikhis of india and the indian army were put down) They were hiding in the golden temple, and the troops HAD to go in. After that operation Indira Gandhi was advised to change her sikh bodyguards by everyone, but she insisted that she wouldnt segregate
