Why is that fish so legendary? when my friend told me let's play Dopefish I was like wtf...but when we turn on the computer it was Commander Keen. he actually called the game Dope Fish xD

This fish used to sometimes follow me in my dreams when I was younger and make a meal out of me^^ I loved the Keen series but hated the underwater levels. There is also a dope turtle in Keen 7 ( Fan Mod ) which also likes to eat your players.

Now I know where I saw it...in commander keen...I played that game when I was like...5 or 6

Now I can remember that lvl so well....the nostalgia hit me really hard :D.

I believe I was 6 the first time I played this game (not when it originally came out, but not too long after the fact) and this was the only mission that made me shit bricks, simply because I couldn't use the pogo stick of the gun. I'm not sure if I ever got eaten by the Dopefish, maybe the first time but I do recall getting to the end and going "oh hey, there's the exit, that wasn't t-OH MY GOD IT'S A GIANT FISH GET AWAY GET AWAY GET AWAY 0_0"

Ahhh...Commander Keen. Up there with Jazz Jackrabbit as one of my favorite 2D platformer series of all time. Such a shame he'll never see the light of day again. Seems that all these classic DOS series died after like 2 years. OMF, Keen, Jazz. Seems like creators are going for graphics, M-ratings, sex appeal, and nickel and diming you with DLC over actually making something knew, risk aside.

Awesome game. Maybe I'm getting old, but they really don't make them like this anymore! World maps, varied levels, lots of enemies... Perhaps I don't play enough modern platformers but none spring to mind.

The composer of this game's music, Robert "Bobby" Prince, explained in an interview that this music was meant to be in Keen 3.5 "The Lost Episode", where Keen dreams that he is being attacked by vegetables (and thus the enemies are all vegetables). The words that are meant to be sung to the song are "You've got to eat your vegetables!", which Keen's family tells Keen numerous times at the dinner table.
