I went there like 3 days ago and was shocked to find that it was $2.00 a play! Spent $20 and got 9 tries! ($2.00 for a new card) and I could have sworn that I saw a machine that said 12 seconds left and was blinking E 0/0 it had really cool doggy toys! This is the 3rd video I've seen of people getting tons of plushies. How do the machine owners make money if you catch so many? Is it like $5 to play or something? I know in the US almost no one wins the crappy crane game.

Don't be fooled... most of the youtube videos are from experts. The one near where I live costs $1 to play and I find it harder than the traditional western crane games. Usually it takes more than one try to win something, but it's worth it since UFO catchers tend to have higher quality, exclusive prizes. The only thing I've ever won was a Stitch plush from Lilo and Stitch.

It really doesn't make any difference since most of the claw games in JP are either UFO Catchers or similar ones, and the prizes are fairly attractive to me anyway. I kinda prefer the cutesie ones like those chibi Disney plushies. Too bad I have no use for any of them. My cousins pay, and I play. All prizes go to them. :P
