What else would you call it? If someone handed you a brand new car that you couldn't rag the pants off because it needs to be taken and used by others around Europe but you needed to drive it to a point where you were satisfied with it's performance, what would you do?
First of all the video is great and so looks the car! But I was wondering does the cupra with DSG have Launch Control? You wrote that the ESP can be turned off, so after you do that what happens if you put the lever in S or D manual while pressing the brake pedal, then rev up to some rpm and finally release the brakes? The method described above is the way LC works in the 6 speed DSG but does it work the same way with the 7 speed DSG, another way or there is no way you can have LC?
According to a new FR owner in our club, this does not work. There is a discussion currently ongoing about this on our forums. Head on over to our forums (see description) and search for 'launch control'
im picking my new Bocanegra up in mid nov and i just cant wait if all the reviews are right about this car im sure it will be up there with the st's and gti of our world
i think it can easily compete with mini cooper s which is the fastest (its faster than OPC i'm 100% sure about that, so the fastest of all at its category) at accelerations.. And people (i'm talking to the most of you) don't be stupid, you would prefer DSG instead of manual any day. I know i know i like the stick too but u should try the DSG... cause its for free::))
i really like this car. I want to know more about its handling though cause im very dissapointed that the ESP is non-disengegable. If it wont allow you move the tail a bit it can't be good. Better oversteer than understeer. I think it will be the fastest of all the hot hatches though. OPC is not that fast for nearly 200 hp and 207 RC has much longer ratio, and a manual offcourse. It also sounds very very good. It doesn's sound like a turbo to be honest and it seems to have much power high
The ESP can actually be switched off. The button is located in the same position as the standard MK5 Ibiza, down by the gear lever. So you can get a little more play from it!
As far as the noise is concerned, the turbo and supercharger work in unison to create a seamless power band through the revs. You cannot hear when the turbo or supercharger starts or finishes. It's astonishing!
yes but it ca't be fully disengaged no? Anyway i dont mind it if it gives you abit freedom like the ESP from mito for example. Yes i really believe in this engine/transmission. Something else i noticed is that this thing gains speed extremely fast... I mean have you seen any other car reach 120 miles that easy? (i always refer in this category) Is there something wrong with speedo? I can hardly believe its THAT fast
You're not far off there with that figure to be perfectly honest. They say it'll do around 6.7 litres for every 100 km and i believe them to a certain extent.
You'll need to drive it responsibly but i think its a doable target. The beauty of the 1.4 TSI in this new Cupra is that it can be driven hard when needed but will runn all day long as a swift motorway cruiser too. It's good on the petrol and won't break the bank balance when it comes to repairs either.
I waiting for the FR. At the first time i wanted the Cupra but here in italy we have to spend 23.600 euro!! I read in some forum that in england it's pretty less expansive, yes? I don't understand why so difference price....anyway, i took my eyes on the FR, i paid 20.255 euro....
I get my red bocanegra this friday! Can't wait =]

Thank you, so I'm right when i say about the price in england? I read somewhere 17.000 £ about much less than in italy...:-(
castless 2 years ago
Less than that actually!
FR = £14,995
Cupra = £15,995
