It does fit with the song. There's a contrast between the peace of the song and the violence of the video.

The song's called american dream - there's people fighting in it - and a woman dancing round with her eyes closed half the time, as if she doesn't know what's going on.

Just put one and two and three together.

At least, that's what I read from it personally.
