it seems like the muzzle brake is driving the barrel down pretty hard. I suppose if you shot it off a rest or bipod it would be rock steady, or the muzzle brake could just be replaced.
At least that was what the instructors told us in the Bulgarian army for 1.5 years. You keep the aim with the left hand, holding the gun firm against your shoulder at all time while shooting, reloading, changing magazines etc.
The right hand reloading etc is behind the design of AK, and almost all of the heavy rifles. The handle is on the right side for operating with the right hand. This kind of design you can see in the shotguns, rifles, and so on. Your finger is ALWAYS off the trigger unless you are about to make a shot... When you are down on tne ground try to hold the AK with your right hand with four fingers only... Good luck... It is easy to find some Chechnya or Kosovo videos and see.
I was in the army for about 1.5 years having this thing by my self at ALL TIMES shot thousends and thousents of rounds at almost all conditions...
Just but your magazines in your belt, lay on the ground and try to reload the f*ing thing with your left hand while holding your aim and you will see what I'm talking about... I
got to love the muzzle climb/recoil ( or lack there of) on the AK-74 the only gun I have ever shot that has a tendancy to drift down when i shoot it lol
Yep, that's the whole idea, actually. It's one of the reasons the AK74 has basically the same amount of recoil as an AR15 without having to use a buffer tube.
@m0ondoggy...I do like Arsenal as they do make a quality AK,In fact i came very close to purchasing a SGL 31.The fact that Waffen Werks has a flawless KG gun cote and came with a Tapco G2 trigger for around $250.00 less really sold me.I dig most AKs and i must say you got a very nice model and i know you are happy with your buy.Happy shooting to ya!!
Russian and Yugoslav are just fine but I'm in love with my Bulgarian Waffen Werks AK-74.I paid $650.00 for mine and in my opinion it's better than Arsenal and it has a KG gun cote.
@Warmachine05450 I'm inclined to agree. A kit build from a quality builder is every bit as good or better than an Arsenal, and will definitely have a better finish. The one in this video, however, is actually from Arsenal Kasanlak as it left the factory and is 100% original, being that it's a post sample.
@m0ondoggy I love your blond stock, I believe I'll do that to mine soon. What do you think of your comp? I'm just a semi auto guy; ( but recoil isn't that bad. Great vid, bro, looks like you know how to shoot....
@jewballee That is unfortunate since it's the modern caliber of the Russian military. Your best bet is to either order the 5.45 from an ammunition website such as Cheaper Than Dirt or Ammo To Go, or purchase it at your local gun show.
@jedirifleman tula, silverbear, brownbear, ulyavnosk (or however the fuck you spell it), and my fav the mil-surp all share that shitty odor that i hate but love when i go shooting
@frylock44 I was using Russian 7n6 surplus (headstamp 270 I believe). I've always noticed this slight ammonia smell when shooting it. So, more to the point, its smells like piss :).
About $800, but this is a post sample. You have to be an SOT to get one, a regular joe can't just go to the store and buy one. A transferable AK is about $14-16K and requires NFA paperwork. If you want a transferable AK-74 you'll need to spend about $14K on a chinese transferable AK, then spend some more to have someone who knows wha the hell they are doing convert it with a parts kit.
@AztecWarrior777 An FFL who's paid a Special Occupational Tax that allows them to go through hoops to possess a post sample machinegun. Class 3 FFL's, Class 2 Manufacturers, etc. You still need a demo letter from a CLEO and a bunch of other crap to do it, so it's not like you get a magic licence and can go play, you have to be in the business of dealing this stuff.

@rollthelosingdice What? Apparently you know nothing of guns. Never take your finger off of the trigger? Really?

@Voldness maybe I worded that wrong, never use your trigger hand to reload. Keep your finger trigger ready at all times. #1 rule in combat.

@3AKOBAH You always should hold your gun with your strong hand . The other hand is used for reloading, charging ...
This is one thing you learn at the army.

@KobraSahin
no russian AKs come into the states are actually in military configuration, so saying "get the AK-74m" just shows lack of knowlege.
The closest is the Arsenal's version of 74m, and its converted out of a saiga.
PetePhamous 4 months ago
Excellent arm control. You seem a pro to me. Too bad we can't have this in Europe, although I understand the riscs.
