it actually IS the school's drumline and YES you must register for at least that class, but you only have to take that and not other classes if you prefer.

Scholastic is purely high school age and below and has to be a high school or middle school program. Independent can be any age within the requirements not affiliated with a high school. And yes, independent groups can be college lines. There's RCC, Penn State, Boston University, and plenty more.
