My shop teacher made this for some reason... what does it do?

@Hazar629 probably your teacher wanted to show you how the electric motor works. This tool is is the simple model of actual electric motor(real one is much much more stronger), and tells you how they are made, and how they work.

@JoexuniT No, he hasn't explained it or anything. Not even presented it to us. He just made about 10 and set them on his desk.
