  • Play Amon Amarth.

  • Excellent.

Can you let me know what model that guitar is?

    Thanks

  • That second tune was by Donovan?

  • @OldJong Gift from a flower to a garden? I could listen to this guitar forever. About 40 years ago I took an Epi 12-string off the rack in a store and was knocked out by the sound when I strummed it. Not being a strummer I went all fingerpicking on it...perfection! The Epi-12 series has a strange way of making twelve become six in the ease of playing. So many 12-stringers need the strength of a gorilla coupled with the delicacy of a spider to pull off even the most basic stuff .

  • @Rikk303 Yes that is it! Time is flying don't you think? You are right 12 stringers are often a pain to play but the good ones are really something.

  • @OldJong Yeah time is flying...the older I get, the more I used to know. Never did get that Epi 40 years ago..settled for a Yamaha FG180 which as an impoverished student was more in keeping. Still wonder about that Epi though, this many years later.

  • @Rikk303 I heard that these Yamaha FG 180 are very good even if they are not too expensive. I have two relatively expensive ones: A Gibson ES 175 and a Guild JF 50 but I also have a very old Harmony Monterey that I love to play! It feels so good it is an incredible guitar from the fifties.

  • @OldJong the FG-180 was a Dreadnought thing Yamaha did and discontinued many years ago. Strangely enough, listening to a friend play a Harmony Sovereign made me buy it!!! Always been a fan of Steve Howes' and he made the 175 his own..sort of

  • @Rikk303 Yes! That shows how a guitar can be versatile. Steve Howes and Joe Pass played these guitars and both got the perfect sound and feeling for their music.

  • @OldJong Joe Pass is a bit of a hero. Are you my long lost brother? Zappa and Corlyell are faves..Beck 'natch..Jerry Donahu especially...Hedges and Jansch are the equivalent acoustic counterparts

  • @Rikk303 I don't know!... LOL Zappa was one of my heroes and Beck still is. Good music is universal. :-)

  • @OldJong We were separated at birth bud!!!!

  • @Rikk303 I will have to talk to my mother about this! LOL

  • what song was that?
