I love the way he gives his guitar a quick kiss at the beginning before starting the concert. That's really having respect for your instrument, your craft, and the music you're about to share with people. This is sublime.
I went to school with Trey Gunn. He used to play in a fun college band called Punishment Farm. This was in the early 1980s. They used to play at our co op.
What a long time ago. He was accepted into the League of Crafty Guitarists and put out a few albums with Fripp alone before joining King Crimson. Who would've known then?
Trey always had such an intensity about his guitar work. Truly a masterful performance by all here.
i guess a mistaken, a refer to a different eyes wide open with fripp also but Adrian Belew singing .... on the album of King Crimson: happy with what you have to be happy with..
he really makes party of my favorite musicians and groups: Floyd, Frisell, Vangelis, Lyle Mays and some others... Shakras are all opened... thanks for this so beautiful humanity....
with the frippertronics to soundscape evolution it is nice to see an artist work and rework the materiality of sound, time, and presence of improvisation over a 40 year period. I have been an admirer since my now heavily worn vinyl copy of no pussyfooting. more satisfying in many ways than the crimson work, which I also admire differently.
robert fripp is the living proof that deep deep deep down inside of mankind, beneath all the horrible and inartful shit that covers it, there's a wonderful core of pure, uncontaminated and immortal beauty.
"music is the wine that fills the cup of silence" - robert fripp.
@amicaliana thanks, but I would not say god has anything to do with it. I don't believe in god and in Fripp's work I find a celebration of the human mind, of our tangible ability to create rather than god's presumed power to do so. frip's music is a celebration of our physical existence.
such small audience?

Put this on and it's less than 3.
You cannot imagine the restorative power of this beautiful sound.

the effects rack robert uses is paired in mono with twin feeds to the desk to create the almost 3d spacing of the soundscape.

Beautifully unconventional, which is Robert Fripp's legacy and has been right from the start over 40 years years ago...
